Ok so because they were middle-platonists, their whole argument is that the Logos has to be a separate God and not in a Trinitarian sense, otherwise God could not communicate with man at all. Am I understanding that correctly? Sam and William should stand down lol, and quoting the editor's introduction/heading to the chapter as part of your argument, is pre laughable.

The chapter Heading is a accurate summary of what Justin said. Justin says the Person who appeared to Abraham is "God"(God the Son): and also the person who sent this "God" and two angels is another who always stays in Heaven(God the Father). SO he distinguishes the 2 Godly figures here. Hence he was a Trinitarian. Not 2 Gods but 2 Persons who are both God.
