@@tonykiang9052 Using "Swiss std of living" as a mean to reflect on the government performance, serve no purpose in charting the path forward for Singapore. The hardest hit will always be the lower income workers. These group of workers usually the skill set needed for the job is not complex, as such if the skill they have can be duplicate by anyone, therefore this group of workers tend to have competition and multiple supply of such workers, why should employer pay higher salary when the supply of workers is abundant. There is a lot of debate with regard to this issue, that is the job for the government to work on policy of hiring foreign worker regulation and job redesign with courses and skill upgrade for these group of workers.

If the government truly aims to support those in need, it should broaden eligibility, streamline application processes, and implement more nuanced measures that address the diverse challenges faced by Singaporeas, especially the baby boomers group, struggling with raising cost, increased in minimum retirement sum, job competition with EP holders, caregivers to their elderly. Without such reforms, these so called support schemes risk being little more than just symbolic gestures. All these support scheme are just big words from rallies, news but completely lack transparency and clarity in how these support scheme are structured

STEM are equally important if not more important but the government has failed to create such a system in singapore where STEM graduates have a competitive careers. When TSMC just started in the early 90s, our government also poured billions into our semiconductor industry, notably chartered semiconductor. Decades later, TSMC is world leading and Chartered has folded. Look at all the scholars, Perm Sec and even political office holders, how many have a STEM background?
