Varun Bhatnagar well guess what all Indians , let alone the billion dollar rich, store their black money in Gold. Even I have a Golden Ring that was molded by a local traditional sonar in our village. THAT counts as black money too. The money store in unconventional means is takes the biggest share. And I am a Bhakt. Don't abuse me by calling me Khujliwal We need RTR, Wealth Tax and Jury Law. These three laws alone will boost Indias manufacturing capability many fold. The money that is stored in foreign currency creates a huge pressure on our Forex Reserves. To mitigate this pressure , we need to stop importing stuff, for that we need strong policies to encourage Manufacturing. Did you even go to school?

what has gone is gone u can not bring it back! but what u can do is to discourage such practices in future , still much of the damage has been done . 60-70% of transactions today take place in cash , much of it is unaccounted through practices like corruption , mafia , real estate ans corporates who evade taxes.. though most of the unaccounted money must have been made white by investing in property , gold etc but still majority of it lies in cash , that is what has got destroyed completely now and believe me it is a huge amount and many unethical people are going to suffer ,since only 4000 rs notes can be exchanged and the time limit is 31 dec 2016 , thus 50 days (u can calculate how much black can u turn into white). what most people dont understand is this is actually a move towards cashless economy , wherein the amount of money withdrawn through atm and bank has been limited thus pushing people and retailers towards online and debit card banking where everything will be under the watch of the govt , ED and rbi and most of the tax evaders wil come under the ambit of the govt.

I think there is some information loss. By single best thing one usually means that in a series of good things one stands out as the best or most effective. I'm sorry that didn't seem clear but its what I meant. All the schemes and reforms which came before paved the way for what finally had to come. But without the last most important step the previous things would be ineffective. I'm sorry I hope I'm able to explain this properly. So all the things were good and extremely important, but the best was saved for last. Hope that clears that up. And it took almost 3-4 years to heal..Almost 1 million youth lost their jobs..and as far as the question is concerned of black money,99.3% cash returned to banks..the actual black money was sent to swiss banks..so there was such a waste of energy,money and time..
