@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Yeah they're quite diverse and thoroughly entertaining, they have a few different channels between them. Well after having seen that I wonder how well a 904L steel Submariner case would hold up to an equivalent Seiko even, as the back cases are about the same thickness but the 904L stainless steel is softer than modern 316L... @@WatchUP69MrRangeman this will most likely outrage you and others but I bought a gpr-b1000 on credit and sold it for £550 to raise cash to buy the parts I needed to build my dream guitar. I'm a guitarist in a pink floyd tribute band and I needed to get a fender strat with emg dg20 pickups, I could not afford to buy one even on credit and wanted to build it myself so I went around Britain getting parts to assemble the guitar of my dreams. It all worked out superbly well and it came in just under £520 in total. Pro luthier did the neck and what a fantastic job. Because I could not get the cash together I thought what would sell like hot cakes and I searched for the biggest baddest G-SHOCK and I saw the huge rangeman. For £16 a month I ordered one, interest free and once delivered I tried it for a few days and liked it but my Misson needed to go ahead so ebay it was, within 2 minutes of me putting it on it was snapped up straight away. I now pay for my guitar@ 16 pound a month something I couldn't do with guitar shops, online or otherwise. If you would like to hear the guitar in action you can hear an instrumental version of comfortably numb on my channel.

I really miss the G-Shock in this test. We all know the terrible story of Scott Cassell. He told, his dive buddy was seriously injured by an exploding G-Shock. And it's true, you can find these stories all over the internet. People were slashed by sharp resin parts and died on the spot. I don't believe Casio's real water tests. Never go swimming with a G-Shock. You will not survive! 😉 But seriously, I have great respect for Scott Cassell's career. And his commitment to the environment is great. I just found this G-Shock story a little bit strange. After all, many divers use G-Shocks as a backup in case their dive computer doesn't work. And the G-Shocks wouldn't have this long career in the military if they had 'underwater problems'. That's just what I wanted to say.
@WatchUP69MrRangeman
@WatchUP69MrRangeman 3 жыл бұрын
I've heard of Scott Cassell, but never knew about the killer G-Shock, now that would be a great video for Watch Crazy! The Frogman series are the only true Diver G-Shocks, the rest aren't put through so much stress to be iSO Diver rated, as G-Shocks are just randomly tested for 200m, but the forces and water shocks, this adds a deal of extra pressure to a watch. Dive computers are the main piece of equipment, and using a bezel isn't what I would call safe, so to me it's more of something of gimmick... in darker waters, a small analog dial isn't the best to read, whereas a digital display is vivid and clear, and has a backlight, so no torch needed. The GWF-D1000 has the log side, plus has the depth sensor, along with an alarm, so is really a cool piece of secondary kit, even used as the main piece of kit if things really turn bad, or the diving computer decided the battery is done. I've read a few divers enjoy taking their watches into the see, but unless it can be visible at depth, then it's just jewellery the most. Modern tech has really made the bezel diver redundant, but for those who dive without any certificate illegally, then maybe it'll work... but diving and ascending are very crucial, as these times need to be calculated. Thanks for sharing this about Scott, will have a read through this story... cheers :))

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman I find it very interesting to read articles about Navy Seal watches and stuff like that. You can often read differences between the 'official' watches and the watches they really wear. Often it is about G-Shock versus Luminox. I understood it that way, that there are no longer official outfitters in today's times. But G-Shock still seems zo be the number one for people like that. Surprisingly, they buy the normal models for 50 or 100 dollars. Luminox plays a smaller role, but they are worn without a doubt. I can also imagine that such specialists use a different watch in the dusty desert than in the dark sea. Scott Cassell is perhaps the most experienced diver in the world, I believe him that Luminox works well underwater. But of course he's an ambassador for this brand, and of course he only has good words for Luminox. And that's absolutely fine. These pressure test guys should test these two brands, shouldn't they?
@WatchUP69MrRangeman

@@MartinLuetzelberger I agree, would love to see a good selection of watches pressure tested. Not sure if it was you that I mentioned that I'm now a LUMINOX owner, as I've just bought my first LUMINOX... it's a model that is no longer, but once I clocked it, I had to hunt for it, so will make a video for sure... the Bear Grylls LUMINOX is with Watch Crazy, as he wants to review it further. I just love the tritium, it's subtle but readable and it's always ready. I see there's many fakes around, and watched one video with a guy saying all three of his LUMINOX's have issues, while in the comment section, a few say they're all fakes! The composite cases and bezels aren't easy to make, and would imagine the fakes are just plastic. I'm not into Bear Grylls, so mine is unbranded by someone off the TV, as I really have no connection with the guy, but he looks like a tough guy, then again Tom Cruise does his own stunts :) My buddy over at Avg. Joe Watch Reviews tortured a cheap CASIO, and it survived so much, so guess these are good enough in the war of it all... but having lume on the watch continuously is something I'm getting very much used too :)) Cheers for your reply my friend :)
@MartinLuetzelberger
@MartinLuetzelberger 3 жыл бұрын
@@WatchUP69MrRangeman Oh wow, I didn't know that Luminox is having such a problem with fakes. On the other side, why should it be any different with Luminox than with Casio. I think half of all criminals in the world make watches. Just the fact that Luminox is so often compared to G-Shock, shows that the watches are tough and go their way. Just like Casio, you have to find a ceritfied dealer to avoid buying bullshit. I found your videos about the Luminox watch to be 100% authentic and passionate. I'm looking forward to it if you should do something about Luminox again!

@@MartinLuetzelberger In same cases I believe the fake market is about making a brand more sought after, especially with regards to BOLEX watches. It's like the three wish tier of owning a mansion, driving a Ferrari and wearing a BOLEX watch, and we've seen plenty of videos on replica super cars and watches, so the market to own the real thing is just out of reach for many, or they just don't want to pay that premium price, but still want to have that branding. If you owned a watch company which was opposite your competition, and their watches were replicated, how would you feel??? Why not replicate your watches?? This makes the brand more sort after, more luxury and a reason to charge more, it also has the marketing side. Now there's a twist, as some watches can be replicated as more of a gain to themselves, has nothing more than to make money from buyers, so they get scammed, and they seem to pick on the lower market like SEIKO, CASIO and even CITIZEN's. There's a company called WISH that sell replicas blatantly and even Amazon sell fakes too. G-Shock get hit also, but it's not so easy to replicate the module, but to someone who's new to G-Shock, they can get burnt, and this is the case with LUMINOX, and again, if you haven't seen the original then how can you compare. So it's like channels like mine that show watches to see what they look like, and use these videos to compare if you're not sure. Now my conspiracy with luxury brands like BOLEX, is they are involved, otherwise you would hunt these replica factories down and rid them, but it's good business sense to have the fakes in the market, as it keeps the wanting of an expensive watch popular, and when nobody replicates, then it shows they're not a wanted/grail brand. It's quite a complex strategy, but I really think the big watch corps control this. To be 100% you have to buy from an authorised dealer to get any reinsurance, but have heard this can also be subdued to a scam. Now the easiest way to never live a fake, is that all watches are chipped like a dog, now that'll put the end to the game, but this would also end many factors. Will we ever know the truths?? For an example, China is geared up to make watches, even using Swiss machinery, they can make parts for the luxury Swiss side, so there's nothing stopping them from going rogue and making a whole watch... you'll never see a true replica, it's like that side needs to be a few steps behind, keeping the urge for their market hungry, and sometimes the replica can be better made, and I've heard for some brands, the only way to spot a replica is that it's better made LML :-P Anyway, unless the truths come out, it's really about guessing, but we all have our own thoughts on the subject hey! Yes, I'm a big fan of LUMINOX now I understand them more, and with my first purchase, this shows I've put my words into play, and not just another channel full with BS, and I will review it for sure. I didn't go for Bear Grylls just to add, but I think you'll like the choice when I explain why... cheers buddy :) Ps... I haven't spelled or grammar checked my reply, so apologise if it's a mess in parts, but am sure you'll get the gist :)
