This came at such a perfect time for me. I'm in the class of 2022, however, I'm graduating from community college with an associates' degree while all my friends from high school are graduating with a bachelors this year. The thing is though, I'm still young, and at 21 years old I'm not ready to decide on a major because I still have no idea what my long term career goals are and what path I want to follow. But Taylor's speech brought me so much comfort and helped me realize that just because I may be a little behind my peers in terms of my education, that doesn't mean I'm destined for failure. And for anyone in the same boat, I'm sure you'll find your way too. Thank you Taylor, you've been my favorite artist ever since I first heard Love Story at 8 years old and you always will be ❤️
@utubefreshie2 жыл бұрын
You're not behind. In a few years, it won't matter and less so, in more years after that. As an older person, my advice (and not too far from Taylor's) is listen to your gut instinct. It'll tell you what to do and where to go. ALTHOUGH do try to be wise about it. Your gut will tell you that too. Try to take as many opportunities that come your way as you can. If some don't exactly feel right for whatever reason, then move on. Works for jobs and for relationships. Do try to give something or someone a chance however, and don't give up at the first sign of struggle or hardship. Real life is hard and unfortunately, doesn't get easier as we get older BUT we do get wiser! Just try to make the wise choices which also means oftentimes not making rash emotional decisions. This is most important too when it comes to money. Anyway, you'll figure it out and get there eventually. Good luck!!
@michaelrmurphy27342 жыл бұрын
Hopefully doing CC you are not in six figure debt like your peers. Post secondary is just pricing itself out of the market. It makes no sense to do university and blow big money on it if you have no idea how to pay it off in a career. All the best for you in the future.

@utubefreshie2 жыл бұрын
@@LaurenLaass As a writer and fellow "person in the arts," this is the reason why I find it hard to encourage young people to pursue the arts in college. On the side, as a hobby, go for it! But realistically speaking, if you're just gonna put in a couple tens of thousands of $ into a bachelor's degree then make sure it's one that'll pay off as a career eventually. And unfortunately, a degree in the arts doesn't always cut it. If you can get a scholarship then that's a different story. But if you have to go into massive debt, it may not be worth it. Having said that, good luck to you and your theater career! I'm sure you're great in it. I ended up working for the city library and no longer write for a living. It's just a more stable job overall.

Inspiration for the day: Taylor gets an honorary Doctorate and, with candor and grace, shows why she's a sterling role model for young and old. Commencement speeches are rarely touching and funny, as well as wise.

That was an amazing heart to heart mindful speech . She points out what we have all gone through ..or will go through in our life times. We will have ups and downs, but instead of turning to paths that can cause destruction in one way or another…may it be a bad choice or an bad memory, we NEED to pay attention and LEARN from what life hands us. Many Blessings and heartfelt wishes to all those who go through any life decisions…..may we all learn, grow and blossom into what will be the BEST versions of ourselves that we can be.

We swifties needs to stop calling out for hater or act like it is something new. Dude, it's been happening to Taylor ever since she started her career. When she wins something or when she losses something, people always has something to say about her. Just gulp it down fellow swifties, it's pointless to say anything to those haters.
