Surely, as a foreigner in England I have a right to be governed in England by those capable of governing and those governing for the benefit of all of England's people. Johnson governed England just, solely for his own benefit, he tricked his acquaintances and colleagues in such a way that they have all, that's every one of them, lost credibility, thier position and thier honour. He must surely be punished in the most severe way possible within the law and also outside of the same laws that he is trying to use to protect his dirty arse.

With respect BJ...my husband retired as an essential worker (who worked through the first parts of lockdown in his role with his colleagues) and after 40 YEARS of dedicated service, received no Thank You never mind a Party because we interpreted the rules the way the majority did. He received a card over the garden wall from his boss and his workmates drove past the house in their vans. No Party was allowed for his Boss or his Workmates to say Thank You and Goodbye to him. Why should someone in parliament be any different when they already have more privileges than the majority of us. BTW My absolute sympathies to anyone who lost someone dear, couldn't attend a funeral or hospital. I was hospitalised for a week during lockdown and my husband had to leave me at the door. I was redeployed in the NHS and worked on a hospital ward during Covid to help provide cover for my colleagues who had come down with Covid. During that time, we had colleagues who had passed, colleagues who left, same for patients. We would have liked to gather to mark the occasion in some way, but it was plainly clear to us and our clinical leadership that it wasn’t necessary for work purposes so we didn’t. The line that he needed to have a gathering of people with drinks in hand in order to run the country is complete bollocks.

She's a real piece of work Allegra Stratton, when she was at the BBC she stitched up a young girl who was claiming benefits and edited out the part where the girl stated she was working full-time - just to fit the heartless tory narrative and advance her political career. EDIT: People who earn lower salaries are, as in this case, entitled to benefits to top up their income, they cannot survive without it. The girl stitched up by Stratton was legitimately claiming benefits.

Thank you for mentioning loved ones. I lost 2 Grandparents in 2020, one in the first wave and the other one in August when we had local lockdowns, it was horrible not to be able to be there for them. And the funerals were so sad with the limited numbers who could attend. Not to mention not being able to hug my mum who'd just lost her dad. Those 2 meter distances felt so difficult at that point. Every single consequence to every single thing he has done in his life has been paid off or made to go away. Whether it’s the restaurants he smashed up as part of the Bullingdon Club, or the countless kids he’s fathered in his many affairs. He genuinely does not understand accountability or consequences in the way you or I would because he’s never had to face either of them. You can see by his body language and his facial expressions that having to explain his actions, and the possibility of facing real ramifications as a result of them is deeply unfamiliar territory to him.

Revisiting this today. Watched the whole thing at the time. The thing that stayed with me through all of this is the fact that Johnson obviously felt that because he thought something - it must be the case for all. In his mind he was 100% correct and therefore he could not be wrong - despite evidence to the contrary. This wasn't a stitch-up. It was the balancing of fact against fiction. I understand the committee's decision was unanimous despite their poles apart politics. Johnson ran out of road. His art of speaking counts for nothing when it comes to truth versus lies. No matter who you are - in the end that catches up with you. His argument that his misremembering things wouldn't matter because he felt people would accept he was following all guidance.....when at his parties and that behaviour was acceptable. I'm glad he has gone but don't forget who put him there and who enabled his lies and deceit.

You have to say - he is so very like Trump in that one respect of mindset. The two of them just don’t get how what they’re thinking or doing could be wrong. To them, by nature of them thinking or doing it, MAKES it correct. ‘I am the state!’ A minor detail but a massive point of comparison between how the two of them think, and also act when they’re brought to account - they genuinely just seem incapable of understanding it, and in Johnson’s case that same state of mind we know goes all the way back to his childhood. If you haven’t read the comments his old Headmaster at Eaton made about Boris thinking he was special and the rules not applying to him - worth a read, the parallels to today are shocking!

I got caught smoking when I was 14 by my Dad. He sat me down and I was horrified He knew I had taken up smoking. He patiently explained his disappointment and asked me what it was all about. Instead of meeting him halfway or even breaking down in shame and apology.... I denied it blankly. As he delivered evidence slowly, consistently and bouyantly in watertight fashion, I still made absurd attempts to counter with (now) embarrassingly nonsensical slippery bulls☆☆☆ to, not just save my bacon, but to exonerate myself completely to the level that he should himself feel silly for daring to charge me with such a thing.... I lied and lied and said I tried once ages ago but hadn't for more ages (hoping admitting a minor fail would offer some nobility to mask my utter bollo☆☆☆) ..... he simply pointed to the all the while presence of with the box of 10 Marlboro in my school uniform shirt breast pocket..... I then blamed a friend asking me to hold them in fear of their own parental grievances and me being the saint. Now.... that memory... IS this EXACT video. A dishonest child caught being very naughty, no doubt about it...... pants down.....wide open....yet sooooo immature and ignorant to know magical lies sometimes do not work ..... moreover.... make you even more transparent in your dishonesty. Might that make you take to the streets as part of a popular uprising? Because that's what we need! Exactly like Dutch Admiral Tromp sailed into London with a broom tied to his mast to sweep clean the swamp, we now need to take a broom to this stinking mess. Let's sack all of these career politicians and go Icelandic on our parliament (i.e. replace the lot of them with people without financial interests).

We're in Leicestershire and I had my first baby during lockdown, he was born with breathing difficulties and spent a week in NICU, I had had an emergency section and my partner was only allowed to stay for the physical birth and had to leave afterwards. It was horrendous, trying to pick him up and feed him after surgery, being wheeled up and down to nicu by porters while his poor dad stayed outside facetiming us, it was the worst, lowest point when it should have been the highest of our lives. We were in some lockdown or another for almost the first year of my sons life. For the first 5 months, he wasn't held by anyone except me and my partner, except my mum when we later formed a bubble. My partner went back to work, no mum groups were open, health visitor's didnt visit, family couldn't come and help or visit.. it was lonely and scary and the painful trying to recover alone with a newborn and manage all the scary parts of having a first baby with only being able to leave a vm on the health visitors phone and hoping for a call back. Hes a happy, sociable, intelligent 3 year old now who loves his family and nursery friends and things are brilliant now however, he was and we were robbed of this time of life while we listened to and followed the guidance and rules given to us. These arseholes who disregarded the rules they implemented deserve everything they get.

"I said no-one broke the rules, because a man who broke the rules told me no rules were broken on the occasion he broke the rules. I didn't think there was anyone better qualified to tell me if the rules were broken, than the man who broke the rules - but had told me that the rules weren't broken - because he was actually there, breaking the rules, when the rules were being broken. Yes I asked the man who broke the rules - but who told me the rules hadn't been broken - exactly what had happened on the occasion the rules were broken. And after very careful consideration, both myself and the man who broke the rules, fully agreed that we believed, no rules were broken on the occasion that the rules were actually broken"
