Beautiful project and superb attention to detail! I suggest two additions: 1) Scale diameter 3-blade props. You will lose a bit of efficiency, but at slow speed, 3 blades will move a lot more air for STOL action. 2) A scale mains retract that has a very unique tucking action as it retracts, shortening the length of the gear leg as it moves into the nacelle. It wold take a bit of engineering, your project deserves no less!

Hi Jon, great vid series. Here in the states the nav lights are not flashing just the white strobes.

I figured the escs would be bad after powering them on with no motors attached. I made the same mistake, and horizon set me straight. Also those retracts can not handle constant cycling. They will burn up 100% of the time.

Hi, I did the batteries directly under the wing by extending the original battery plate backwards. The Bronco flys even better and with very low landing speed when you bring the cg a little back. I have mine around 185mm I think. CG is not critical on this plane.

Thanks for the info!

Cool plane, is it correct, that the navigation lights flash on the bronco? In civil aviation the navigation lights are constant lighted.
@russcole5685Ай бұрын
That is my understanding too, navigation lights on constant, anti collision lights flash. As per aviation standard. I think he set this up this due to his preference. It's a model after all. Not a competition scale aircraft
@thelightersideofrcАй бұрын
Probably not. Just got the controller setup like that. Easily changeable.

@thelightersideofrc he's right. Transmitter needs to read high and low throttle. Not a super big deal but you have to use the transmitter it's being flown with.

Nicely done Jonathan.Trouble with Twins 2 of everything is lots wiring.😮😮 Yeah once the props on ya got 2 x ungaurded Circular Saws😅. The only benefit is they cut cleaner than IC engines😂😮😅. Did the motor issue on the Landing gear get sorted or are ya only gonna get 50 odd flights before replacements required😅. Bummer re ESC packing up and time wasted sorting it out but ya did a nice job in pointing the issue and no magic smoke appeared😂😮😅. Nice design on the battery tray placement bit of jiggery pokery always works😂. I suspect the elevator is going to be pretty powerful being in the prop blast all the time should interesting to see what you settle on eventually. Great job as always. 😂😮😅 Keep at it. 😅

Hey Nick. Thank you. Ordered new updated motors. 6 of them! So will likely change 2 or 3 of them and then the owner will have some spares!
@medscott2Ай бұрын
@@thelightersideofrc what are the replacement motors, I have the same Hangar9 OV-10.
@RobertTerhune-z3yАй бұрын
@@medscott2 Hanger 9 has switched vendors for the motors. If you order replacements through them, that will cure the issue. On my original gear, one main motor was doa and the other only lasted a handful of flights before craping out. So far the original nose gear motor hasn't been an issue, but there is less stress on that one as the gear leg is shorter, so less load.

@thelightersideofrcАй бұрын
Probably spring time.
@ThomasBrock74Ай бұрын
That's technically not the motor shaft. The motor shaft goes through the center of the motor that is a bolt-on prop hub. I'm sure the actual motor shaft is 6 mm.
