im a former navy enlisted and i have nothing against the military but as a well educated officer you have studied that fielding a huge military for a long period of time strains the fiscal budget of any nation in history, all they ask is a moderate military with gaps filled in by allies, we don't want to go the way of the Romans and most nations in history that did. I feel bad for current service members they are fighting a war that is not totally worth dying for.

The only difference is that the Romans could summon an entire village for battle within hours. It takes an entire DECADE to build an aircraft carrier today. France fell within a month in WWII. Imagine how fast a war would be today with missiles that can strike anywhere within hours. That requires a military that is always full size.

I'd like to think he is an officer, in a way it would accentuate how delusional he is. He should get back to the real world, and not focus on his own little self, hoping more troops are sent to nurture the belief that he is a 'hero', whereas US should get out of there asap.

Its very important to some to assign blame to this administration that was created by the previous one. The recession and its consequent fallout was to Bush's credit. If Obama fails here, let it be by legitimate issue. I am neither party supporter. I am focused on genuine issues and not some blind fascist partisan loyalty down the ballot.
