Been in this business for nearly 30 years, and the golden rule, is use what works for you! Wish you all the best in the future young man, and be thankful that you don't have to sit in a boring soul destroying office every day. Regardless of the weather! They all want our job in the summer! 🤣

Morning! I've been looking at getting one of these as I have my own gardening business for a while. I've been using my old plug into the mains electric hedge trimmer which is really heavy and I always worry about the cord. Your review has definitely convinced me to get one, especially as it has a long reach handle, and some of my clients gardens are very long. I will purchase one this weekend. Thank you. I've also subscribed xx

I can't fault it for general maintenance. As I think I said in the video, it wouldn't have the power for big reductions but I've got the stihl kombi for that

I’ve got one and I love it mate, very good piece of kit, saves soo much time aswell, just changing the batteries around soo much quicker than refuelling with 2 stroke/petrol, the AK20 batteries are very good man, I did a while job with just 2 cells, probably would have had to to top it up 3 or 4 times if I had a petrol one. Your videos are very useful mate, keep up the good work

Good honest review, might get one of these. Using a STIHL HS45 at the moment but it is quite heavy at a reach angle and at extremes.

I have the HLA 66, and it works very well in the rain, where it as a problem is on very hot days, the battery will shut down on hot days as a safety

Think the battery stuff is a game changer for hedge work mate, just the weight difference and the vibration, you can happily use the battery stuff without wrecking your back. I do love the husky 122hd60 though that's a gem for the money also have a hs56 which is also a good petrol

Hello there.. thanks for the effort you have put in to make this video so informative and Ellaborate the finess in detail of each model explained here.. iam looking at a battery operated equipment to cut about 20mm thick of grass that I shall use to feed my cattle.. I come from India and the only option of battery operated hedge trimmer I have here in India is HSA 50.. could you pls suggest if this model is suitable for cutting grass to feed the cattle.. the cuts should be fine because the the grass shoots from the buds that are cut and regrows itself, but the cut has to be clean only then the grass would re grow.. or else the grads would die away.. awaiting your expert advice.. thank u so much in advance..

Just wondering if your HLA 56 is still going strong? Guessing it would be around 3 years old now? Keep the vids coming!

Been going since March, thanks to your videos that have helped a lot 🙏 would you recommend using more battery operating tools? I use everything petrol, but the amount of problems I've had has been a nightmare and made me want to quit at times! (Out of frustration). Cheers again mate

1cm maybe roughly a touch bigger. I've gone through pretty thick stuff

Hi just watching this, ive had the HLA 56 and after 3 year the motor has died, currently using my heavy spare petrol makita 4stroke, very heavy, especially in this recent heat! the guys mending my 56 have said they should able to get my machine under warranty and new motor would be free! Im now looking to buy a back up, do i go for another 56, as i have two AK20 batteries and charger or the hla66 and upgrade, downside is another £140 for the Ap200 battery, it can be charged in the current charger, which obviously helps, any thought's on this? Im swaying towards another 56 due to half the price of 66 ??
@jonathanelliot2695 Жыл бұрын
I say half the price of 66, that's with battery added on, I've used the 56 in rain, maybe not heavy and has worked ok, didn't know it wasn't waterproof after reading the comments here
@TheGreyGardener1990 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanelliot2695 if your budget stretches I'd be tempted to go for the 66

Has anyone used the Stihl resin solvent on their trimmer blades? I'm wondering whether it's worth the price? I've got this machine and the HSA56, and they've both been lifesavers for me. I don't think I'd have been able to do hedges with petrol machines (I started out with a Makita 4 stroke multi-tool and after an hour my arms were useless for days!!). With this combination I've been able to take on some really big hedges. The only drawback, as you say, is the rain. The more expensive AP range is waterproof.
@mattjaggard79372 жыл бұрын
I did buy the stihl resin solvent didn't find it any good. I use kramp resin remover. Just spray it on leave it a bit & maybe use a wire brush & wash it off & dry the blades. Might need going over twice if they are really bad.

Do they say not to use the battery ones in the rain? I’d get no work done where I live at the minute 🤣 yet to dip my toe into battery tools yet
@TheGreyGardener19902 жыл бұрын
I believe some battery tools are useable in the rain (probably the higher end models) but I'm pretty sure mine isn't

The stihl hla86 (the telescopic pro model) is waterproof and fine in the rain as is the husquvarna version. Mine gets used regularly in the wet, just remember to spray your blades off with wd40 when you finish with it not that this is any different to a petrol machine. Personally I find the hla 86 can cut everything a petrol long reach hedge cutter can, includeing doing once yearly cut hedges or reductions were your cutting really thick 1" stuff were you cut it from two sides!! 😉
