My rabbit was from a shelter, and he saved me from depression. I got him after seeing an ad that he was in and out of homes, because past owners said he was too energetic. I got him a month after my attempt, and I have had him for 2 years now.

I have a rabbit that was badly mistreated from his past owners and I have only had him for a month but he's the sweetest 2 year old bunny but the poor guy has an ear infection, outgrown nails, and he used to have patches of hair missing cause of stress. He used to be outside and the past owners said an animal got to his ear and now there is a piece of ear missing. Now just a month living indoors and giving him toys he's happier. He still has some trust issues but I'm staying patient for the poor boy. I love him a lot

My Son's ex- girlfriend bought a black Britannia petite bunny from a pet shop. She was allergic and her Mom didn't want it in her house. Ended up in my Son's care, at my home, and he has asthma. Well, we all know the story... I named her Honey and she is 9 years old! She's my friend. Helped me get through my little dog Chloe death 18 months ago. She's a real regal spoiled bunny! Definitely thinks she's my boss. She is potty trained, easy to do at any age with any bunny, as long as you give them a defined space for it. She's friends with my 6 year old Golden doodle, Oliver. Adopting a bunny is a very good thing. ❤❤

My bunny Theodore was abandoned out in the wild by his previous owners and he was attacked by a hawk but survived with minor vision issues in an eye he is a holland lop and he is about 4 but you and your videos taught us how to properly care for him after we had adopted him from the rescuers. My wife has 17 Rabbits as of last week. 5 Flemish Giants which one is a rescue and 12 more rescue Rabbits. A few from the shelter and a few from people that ran into financial woes. Don’t worry, they all have outdoor time in the grass back yard which is divided into 4 separate runs.

I got my two rescues last July, they are both handicapped and were abused, then abandoned in the wild. They were in a bad shape as the shelter didn’t have enough space/workers there. They finally have a home and people who love them. These bunnies all deserve a loving home ❤

I have 2 REW's. Both rescues. Gracie may be part Netherland dwarf, and Welly is a New Zealand White. He was dumped and tortured too, yet he is the sweetest, gentlest little big man once we gained his trust. They say the REW's are hardy and robust and they rarely need the vet, including our 2. You learn to love those beautiful red eyes🤩

they are in aisle 2 of my supermarket in NYC. i am not kidding. yes, people eat rabbits. they dont distinguish toys like dog, which is why you are seeing them try to eat the toys. my grandfather kept rabbits for food consumption along with chickens. its hard for me to consider them as pets.

​​​@@jamesgarner2103 Nah dogs have turned on their owners and even eaten kids (like what happened in Memphis). Yet they are still celebrated so why not let other animals be loved? Why does it bother you? Dogs also have more meat than a rabbit (like pugs which are just the pigs of the dog world lol), dogs are "livestock" in other places too btw. A peaceful animal deserves kindness and the chance to be a pet. People are always impressed how great a rabbit is as a pet when I show them they can learn tricks, use the litter box and are not as needy or noisy like a dog. You need strict routine with a dog and almost no social life as they are the neediest pet (dog 💩 is also very bad for yards and grass which people just leave everywhere). I guess it blows your old mind that other animals can be better pets than dogs huh? I have worked and raised all kinds of animals and studied them academically, so have a richer experience than you.

When you have a rabbit in an appropriate space indoors they are wonderful pets, less noisy, less needy, cuter, and much cleaner than a dog too. They can learn tricks as well, plenty of videos showing how loving they are. I don't get why many like you are so obsessed with dogs and worship them while not wanting any other animal gets loved as a pet. Dogs are bred to obey so I guess narcissists enjoy that. Other animals trust is earned. Many dogs aren't even loyal or smart, they run to the street as soon as the door is open 😂 Many dogs have even turned on their owners yet you celebrate them. Give me a break, the dog worship is pathetic. And not everyone's lifestyle is a good match for a dog, not everyone wants their life dictated that they have to be home by 4pm to let the dog 💩 (remember to pick up those giant dog 💩, they are bad for the grass and yards).

@@CJ-zh2lo it's obvious you're just looking to work people up when you don't realize the whole reason rabbits aren't on the same scale as cow or deer meat despite how cost effective they seem...if you rely on rabbit meat you'll die from protein poisoning. there's a reason it's also commonly known as rabbit starvation. it's best to keep rabbit meat as something you eat maybe once a week or less, call it a treat

Oh my goodness Lorelei, I love these visits you do to the animal shelters to see the bunnies. But at the same time, it's a sad scene to see so many. We adopted her with her pal from our local small animal rescue - they were from a hoarding case so they are both very wary of humans. There's a petting zoo pretty close to my home that my family would go to regularly when I was a kid before my parents realized how unhealthy it is for the animals, and they have these really small hutches crammed with bunnies that any toddler can reach in and grab however they please to force them to sit on their lap while they pet them. I remember being so scared of the REW ones simply because of their red eyes. Now I own one, and she's literally the sweetest, most cuddly little baby in the whole world. She'll sit in my lap for hours at a time and whenever I put her back in her playpen to let her eat and drink and use the litter box she'll just sit there and beg to be picked up again immediately. People really need to stop judging animals simply based on their colors

2 of my 3 bunnies are REWs (red eyed whites). I adopted the 2 sisters from my local House Rabbit Society. They had been in shelters and fosters for years because they were older (6), the color and had to be adopted together. They are now 8 and living their best bunny lives with my 3rd bunny, their husbun. Please adopt!

Our guy Clouseau (AKA Jimmy) is from South LA - Chesterfield Square. He’s amazing and makes us laugh every day and has amazing binkies - the glide, the horsey kick, the sideways horsey kick and the classic. Free roaming is the way to experience the full love of a bun, even Clouseau’s sister kitty Roxy would agree. Michelle is a wonderful volunteer and super knowledgeable so if you’re a first time bunny parent she can help you find the perfect friend.

I have watched your content for such a long time. Years ago, we had bunnies including a French Lop, English Lop, and Netherland Dwarf. This was many years before we knew about free-range in the home. The funny thing was, our French Lop taught us about being cage/hutch-free. We would routinely let him run loose in the house. We had a cat at the time and saw him using her litter box. After that, we never put him back into his hutch. Thanks for all of the sharing and education that you do for these sweet bunnies🐇🐰💓💞.

I wish that I could take them all and give them a wonderful loving home, but I'm on the East Coast and already have two rescue buns of my own. I volunteer once a week at a local rabbit shelter myself, and there are so many incredible bunnies that I get to take care of. I always feel really sad leaving them behind to go home, and it always brings me the greatest joy when one finds a new family to love. I wish that anyone who decides they would like a rabbit, does their research, and feels ready to be a bun parent could open their homes & hearts to the many homeless bunnies in shelters all across the country rather than purchasing one and keeping breeders in business. These innocent creatures deserve the happiest lives after being surrendered by their families (best case scenario), dumped outside to fend for themselves, & sometimes even abused by cruel humans. It's truly heartbreaking, and I applaud you for the advocacy work you do to bring these issues to light🙏

The thing I love about red-eyed bunnies and piggies is that you can see the expression in their eyes better, the lighter color allows you to see their pupils and you can see where they are looking better too, as beautiful as the dark brown-eyed animals are, the ruby eyes rock too!

This breaks my heart! I just rescued a rabbit last week she will take a while to trust humans again. Rabbits are the sweetest no matter how many times they get let down. You are doing great things and its such appreciated!

Both of my buns where from a rescue situation, I was given my first bun and my second from a shelter, it was the best decision of my life, shelter bunny’s are the sweetest lil things I love them, they deserve so much better, my one bunny he is a white with red eyes i at first thought “ew he has red eyes that’s “ugly” or “gross”” it was so wrong of me, he’s so cute and is sooo adorable, there is a bunny rn at my shelter and he has not been adopted and has red eyes:( I wish people could do better.❤

They have like noo space at all in those cages!! 😳 In our danish shelters, they have seperated pens on the ground that are like 60-70 cm x 200 cm long. And outside bunnies have about the same or more. And they only choose aoptive families that will have free roaming bunnies or outside bunnies in large pens. We have a free roaming bunny who lives with us inside our intire home (Judy🐰💗) We love her so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

As sad as seeing so many homeless buns is, their reactions are so heartwarming. ❤️ I got my little man Humphrey from a shelter near me (UK), he’s a black lop who was in and out. He still doesn’t quite know what to do with chew toys yet, but a lot of luck with a good classic slinky! He loves it! 😊🐰

My sister has had 3 bunnies all at different times. She took the best care of them that she could. The third one is still here, and she is so spoiled. My advice to people who want a bunny is to do research before getting one. They are a commitment.

I live in a little town in Illinois. Unfortunately there were no bunnies in shelters where I live. I had to buy my bunny from a breeder 2 hours away from me. This was about 6 years ago. I hope all the shelter bunnies get adopted.

My heart breaks to see so many bunnies in cages. My Bunbuns is so spoilt!!! The last one that you are holding is my favorite. I wish mine would let me hold him like that. He hates being picked up. Thank you for all you ❤

Poor sweet little things. Our bunnies are angels. We love them so very much. They get the run of the house and their own rooms. One is aggressive and doesn't agree with the other. I can't help but feel that both of ours would have ended up in a shelter if someone else had gotten them. One is super sweet and the biggest little floof of love and playfulness, but she's also untouchable and skittish. The other is sweet and could be but territorial and aggressive. She will attack the vacuum cleaner and has tried to attack the other bunny and will lunge at people if she's being defensive. But she's also such a sweetie and loves all the petting ever. I bring the occasional bag of toys or food or water bottles to my local shelter for the bunnies. I feel so bad for all of the homeless rabbits.
