I have the 2023 Es350 ultra lux and highway driving is like a dream, but local driving with the v6 is sluggish from 0mph and there is a lot switching gears with the 8 speed, the gas mileage is also terrible unless you drive it very very conservatively. I regret not getting the hybrid. Everything else about the car is unbelievable. The eCVT transmission on the hybrid will out last you, the 8 speed at some point will need to be repaired.

@@MeynMotorGroup omw to work something crapped out... No noise, no check engine light, but it must have been half the horses and the transmission was super reluctant to downshift. Not sure what the issue is, but it seems bad.
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow that sounds terrible. The one similar experience that I had was with a 2010 TSX. The ignition coil went out so while I was driving I basically lost all power and I immediately pulled over to a store. I couldn't turn the car on afterwards but in your situation it seems like you can still drive the car its just reluctant to shift and feels like it's making much less power so I'm not sure.
@Meetoon7333 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup ahhh that's a good point! I didn't even think about the coils, but I definitely had one go out on my old Corolla and felt something similar. Bittersweet if it's the coils because I'd have to come out of pocket on those since it's outside the warranty 🤣
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
Hmm that's interesting I had a bumper to bumper warranty on my TSX and it was covered but it was actually a pretty cheap replacement like $200 if memory serves correctly and my deductible was like a $100 so wasn't terrible hopefully it's something small and cheap on your vehicle

Great review as always, I did have a new ES and was pretty happy with it especially the fuel economy. Unfortunately we don't get the V6 here only the 2.5 Hybrid. I just wish they'd make the AWD V6 ES350... I did a test drive on the AWD ES250... Very nice car, handling, space, smooth, comfortable, all that. But it's a 4 cyl and I really feel it when driving, doesn't have the sound or refinement of a six. (I need AWD for winter). And it takes regular fuel, that's so nice

Only driven the RC F the F cars ride great actually difference between that and the ES riding well is the true “magic carpet” feel of the ES. Feels like a 6 figure luxury barge rolling down the road quiet impressive for the money. Obviously this sacrifices any and all handling characteristics, F Sport helps a tad but not by much best thing about F Sport for 2021 and up is it maintains the excellent ride. Not sure if you were going for the V6 or the hybrid, I personally think hybrid is the way to go on the ES, demeanor is totally different on this car so V6 doesn’t drastically improve the experience since motor is so hush, might as well go hybrid and get 40 mpg. You will have a different respect for the ES and you will appreciate it for a totally different reason. Obviously it’s slower but you won’t really care because you will find yourself never wanting to floor it. It’s satisfying doing the speed limit he’ll even under the limit

I liked everything when they gave me a loaner except the FWD, the seats didn’t feel comfortable, and the entertainment system / sound system wasn’t that great. Other than that the car is great. 😅
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
You're actually the second person to mention that seats are uncomfortable. I personally did not have an issue but which model did you try was it the F sport? And yea FWD sucks always peels out in the corners, F sport does help with the handling but it's still not great In that department
@princesses29093 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup I think it was the f sport and yeah the FWD peel out is hilarious. Our spare 08 Avalon does the same thing. The seats compared to my 2001 LS430 are night and day. I’ve driven 8 hours before and felt like I drove an hour. With the new ES350, I drove 1 hour and felt like I drove 8 hours. 😅 BTW the seats in our 01 and 05 LS430 and completely different. The 01 is super cushy and the 05 feels stiff, much like the seats on this ES.
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow that's crazy yea F sport is cool but I would still have to choose the Luxury Trim I believe or even Ultra Luxury. And I would never push the car so I wouldn't have go experience that FWD peel 😅😂

@@MeynMotorGroup lastly, we have a 2021 Mercedes E350. I think it’s superior to the ES350 in a lot of ways, yeah it’s a bit more expensive, but it’s gorgeous inside and out, seats are comfortable, sound system is great, love those dual screen, is quick, feels super solid, it’s quiet, can’t feel the 9 speed transmission, love the turbo 4 and it’s actually built in Germany. Lots of Mercedes models built in the US or even Mexico.
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
Oh yea new E Class is amazing there's no comparison there but yea that's like $70k for a 4 cylinder with not many options 😅 compared to the lower end C classes and under ES def takes it but ES is not going to hold a candle to anything E class and up. Only downside to the E class in my opinion is the interior solidity, it just tends to creak a bit when you touch panels otherwise it looks like 6 figures inside

18 -19 mpg???? My 2019 Mustang GT Premium averages 21.4 mpg with a mix of spirited driving and cruising. How is that possible?
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
When I had a Mustang GT PP2 as a press car I was getting like 17 mpg was driving the piss out of it. 17 for a performance V8 car like that isn't bad was annihilating this ES as well all of these MPGs are worst case scenarios. I'm sure if you drove this ES you would get like 25 mpg

Most people agree with you about SUV’s. I have both an SUV and a sport sedan. Each brings their own feel and driving experience. I do enjoy the ride and handling of a quality sedan very much, especially in the curvy, hilly back roads and through the mountains. You would need something like a Porsche SUV to have similar drive characteristics to a good sports sedan.

Well these cars aren't through a dealership these are press cars that the manufacturers themselves provide journalists with for testing and review purposes. We spend 1 week with these vehicles. Last week they gave me the Bronco Sport, and the provided me with the ES for this week not sure what car they will give me next. I also am getting cars every week from another Press fleet, currently also have the 2021 Nissan Titan Pro4x for a week. This is why I'm selling that old saggy LS460 no need and no space for that car.

The thing with Euro cars is you gotta spend $70k plus to get anything decent. For $50k and under, most Euro cars are tin cans and that's where Lexus Acura shines. You get a legitimate automobile for the price that doesn't feel cheap. $70k and up no question I'm going German all day
@sayemak993 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup well yeah that makes sense. Tbh german cars are meant to be expensive and luxurious, not budget oriented like japanese cars. But at the end of the day, nothing can beat the reliability of japanese cars in the long term

@@nathanmaxwell2188 who on earth told you their parts are cheap? Their parts are expensive as well 😂😂😂
@nathanmaxwell21883 жыл бұрын
@@sayemak99I meant the parts are cheap as in, they break easily. BMW is notorious for plastic parts. I heavily researched it, because I was looking at German made cars. My mechanic validated it too. Yes, the parts are VERY expensive and most mechanics don't want to work on them. You have to find mechanics that specifically work on German cars. There's a reason why people only keep them for 3-5 five years. Warranty is over and parts start breaking.

I did like the nice ride quality and the well made interior and the seats. Very similar to an ES overall except RWD and probably less reliable over time (or at least more expensive to maintain)
