Just to clarify the 6.1 stuff a bit from having 5.7/6.1/6.4/6.2 apart side by side. 6.1's being made during the Dalmeir Chrysler partnership had all kinds of part sharing. As Ben's updated so did dodge only we were a few years behind. The SL/S/E/C class's got updated Nag1's and better converters, better driveshafts, better diffs so the 6.1 post 09 don't make any more power they just can deliver it better. The LSD in question the 3.06 LSD and the 3.92 LSD were optional. My magnum srt8 (2007) had the 3.06 and made the same dyno numbers as the challengers/chargers/300. As for the other gen 3 hemi's The head change/intake/cam change as far as the Eagle stuff was the 5.7 then carried to the 6.4. The 6.1 kinda is it's own animal and more like the 6.2 as just a long block if that makes sense. Stronger internals, can handle raised rpm, can handle more cylinder pressure and can take 10lbs of boost all day. The 392 is really just a bored/stroked 5.7 and it's not at its limits it's just less room and you have to be smart & carful with your mods. Under 8lbs of boost with a cam swap and some basics your totally good to go on a 392. At the end of the day the weak point in an 05-10(even 12-14 nag trans cars) is the transmission. Since Chrysler was cheap and didn't use the WG7 like amg the trans bearly hold 550whp before breaking/ the open diffs are trash and yes with some basic mods and a LSD you can spank scatpacks when they don't know how to drive. That being said the ZF trans are so much better, the 15 plus cars are engineered better so heads up stock for stock the SRT392 (not Scatpack/TA/RT392) with the 3.09, ZFHP70, stronger drive train parts will win 8/10. At the end of the day grab a 06 srt8 and slap these parts on it and make 600whp and mess with unassuming hellcats, MMX 2.4IHI Blower, Srt Max Plus Cam, 2.82 Pully, Longtubes 2inch by 3 inch 3 inch catless mids Any 3 inch exhaust after that, 3.09 Rear diff, 315/40/17's, Thermostat, Cooling All that to say even though there slower, I'd buy a 6.1 car and mod it every single time over a 392. 💪🏾

How’s the bottom end ? Is it reliable ? Would you mod a 6.1 at 200k miles ? I just hit 200k on my 05 Chrysler srt8 I want to install a cam kit probably stage 2. I’m just worried about the bottom end. Btw I have 05 Chrysler srt8 only about 270 of them made. Is it more valuable?

I have a 08 charger and it's possible with fresh fluids such as oil, trans, & especially fresh gear oil , and ESP has to be off. If yours trans friction plates aren't too worn and your reaction time is flawless and if your lifters aren't failing or about to fail and your cam isn't worn and your oil pump is functioning properly then yes you can beat a scat pack... so to speak.. my 3rd gear pulls hard from 79mph to 121 -122 mph..

Another reason why 2009-2010 Charger Srt8s are harder to find for sale is that I believe they made less than 2000 of them both years combined.

08 got older style taillights newer style seats, that’s what I personally love about my 08. It’s power-wise NA with all the grip and aerodynamics and yes I beat Scats. Not one or two, a lot on the regular. Digs, rolls all that. With not a lot of whp difference, it comes down to how you put your foot down. I am in East Valley can travel west for scats and 09s and 10s😉

On my 2017 challenger scat pack shaker with the factory cold air intake & my 3inch magna flow cat back exhaust. My challenger just barely makes 500hp. So your theory definitely holds true. I wanna install a ported throttle body soon. But, even then it's not much of a gain. Our family owns a restaurant 10 miles outta my home town so my challenger has to be reliable everyday. So the throttle body will be my last part install that adds a couple of horse power. But I love my challenger anyway. Awesome content keep at it!

As a guy who has had 7 chargers i can tell you my 2010 srt8 used beat some & hang with some scatpacks. Had cold air intake exhaust & tune. Now with my current daily 07 srt8 charger i have da same exhaust tune & intake. Ive raced only 1 2017 charger scatpack in it & it was neck & neck from 20 & until like 80 mph & we both let off.

My 2007 6.1 charger make 419.2 whp with intake, exhaust and tune. My 2006 300 6.1 made 350 whp bone stock. And when up to 370 with the tune.

Scats are NOT maxed out bro. Im happy you pulled up Landon In A Hellcat's profile. When he had his scat pack he was destroying Supercharged ZL1 Camaros with bolt ons and CTS V's (version 2) like breakfast and those cars were pushing above 600 hp crank easy. The aftermarket world is releasing more mods for the 6.4 than ever before. My scat is making 615 crank 625 torque all motor no long tubes or cam yet

@@srtdad just a stock 6.4 block with supporting mods and some bolt ons similar to how Landon used to have his scat, mine does what his does. @@srtdad it's possible it's just most scat owners don't ever have their car properly maintained let alone efficiently modded, they prioritize decals and shitty wicker bill wings (that create more drag) and they give the scat a bad rep for being slow but they do have potential. IT doesnt help the aftermarker world took forever to release mods for the 6.4... So Cal Supers also has a fast scat with only headers and E85

lol wow I didn’t know the 2010’s were such a rare find. I bought one in 2018 it just hit 95k never gave me an engine issue since day 1. Interior is shit though.
