Adding some point as per my 8 year exp in Health Industry I suggest to my customer when ever they don't feel good better to take One OPD from Govt Hospital ( In Rajasthan its free of cost) , whether you are not taking that treatment medicine which is free of cost by Govt but for documentation it worked very well . Don't try to hospitalize directly in emergency for seasonable disease at least , take OPD any network hospital near to them that fee not more than 200 rs generally to avoid big amount claim Client mostly take medicine to unauthentic ( Farzi) Dr or take medicine from direct to shop but they don't follow the steps . At the end of day claim are settled basis on documentation not to emotional basis . Follow these steps regularly my accuracy to approve customer claim has gone 95% in last 5years .

Hi Prasad, recently my father in law who is 64 years old was admitted in ICU for seizures which resulted in shoulder dislocation. He already had a policy of 5L sum assured and 5 L top up from year 2019, but unfortunately the claim was denied citing non-disclosure of CVA from the policy inception date. He had a brain stroke in 2019 and after this event he enrolled a health insurance for himself, he is sure he has provided the details regarding PED to the Health Insurance Agent (also in the policy loading section it is clearly mentioned the insured person is paying additional premium for PED). Helplessly we had to pay 9L cash which took a huge toll on us. I am not sure even if i raise a re-imbursement request, insurer might reject citing the same reason. Can you or someone who is reading this comment help us in this regard, even on paying premiums on time for 5 years, we had to face this trauma. Thank you.

Just a thought - If you are young, fit and have a source of income, then create an sip of 30,000 rupees per year instead of buying health insurance. Assuming you don't get any diseases from hereditary, you won't need major health surgery until your late 30's or 40's. Even if a sudden expense from road accident happens, you have your health insurance from job. In 10 - 20 years of time, those sips can generate good sum of money which you can use without any problem. This seems better than getting your claim rejected and running after consumer court.

Although health care facilities are better in Western countries the waiting period for an appointment is sometimes 2-3 months. & regarding free healthcare I highly doubt its free. The hospital bills are mostly backed by health insurance even OPD since most of them have health insurance.

My experience wirh Policy bazaar for claim settlemennt is worst ... pls dont suggest policy bazaar to anyone. Policy bazaar is for those who have full time to follow up with till free numbers at the time of claim settlements and who need cheaper policy with lots of headache .... I have mediclaim of aditya birla and have claimed 2 or 3 times, they are always ready to reject claims if you are not aware ....
