One warning that people should know about is the width limit. It's not covered in the manual & I haven't seen it anywhere else either. The manual says to put the width of your trailer in the app. Which width should you put in? As in my case, I have a 7' wide utility trailer with tires & fenders outside the box. So I ran a tape measure between the wheels & best I could tell it was 103", if I remember right. So that's the number I used, and I could not get the transparent trailer to work at all. It was driving me crazy. I called GMC, talked to the dealership & no one had any answers. So, at some point, I tried changing the width to that of the box, which was 86". Suddenly, transparent trailer started working. So I started playing with the dimensions. 100" worked, 102" worked, then 103" didn't. So, surprise, the limit is 102", which I ran it at for a few weeks. While I liked it well enough, I had some of the view complaints you were talking about. I changed the width of the trailer to the box width of 86", and that mostly fixed my issues with the view. Again, I'm not sure which width GM actually wants you to put in, but for viewing purposes, the box width was much better for me. So my wheels & fenders are just going be outside my measurements. Anyway. If you can't get your transparent trailer to work, make sure your width is 102" or less!

This is the best, most logical and practical approach - really like putting the cable under the trailer - looks awful anywhere else. The learning tips at the end are particularly helpful.

This is a super useful video! First one I've seen on this product. I'd definitely consider this for my smaller cargo trailer. I get what you are saying about the ultimate usefulness of the transparent feature but more info available is always better, especially for longer trips. As always thanks for posting!

I'm picking up a new AT4 on Tuesday and I ordered this rear camera kit for use on my 24" enclosed car hauler. Not sure I'll do the pass through view with the rear ramp on the trailer but it's a fantastic option. Great timing on the video and great content.

Are the reverse guidelines available if you install the camera at the top of the trailer? I'm OK with losing transparent view but would like the guidelines. A rear door blocks placement in the recommended zone

I started at the top then worked my way down the back interior wall down to the bottom and fed the harness through the under belly all the way to the front

Best and most useful information I've seen on this so far. I'll be installing on a 40' 5th Wheel Toy Hauler. The other hack I'll need to implement is swapping the camera connections from the bumpter to the be in my 2024 GMC 3500HD . I still can't figure out why they have a flat 4 in the bed. Quick tip: the truck must be off, and THEN plug in the trailer first, then plug in the rear camera second, then plug in the interior camera. The trailer plug must be plugged into the bumper 7 pin plug to work with the camera/cameras.
