The bags for the large vacs are about 10 bucks each. I'm so cheap that when the vac gets too heavy, I'll carefully pull the bag out and cut a slit in it where the bag is folded and dump out the debris. Then I place a bead of silicone or wood glue along the slit and fold it. Then I use my stapler, fastening it every inch along the fold. I usually let the glue dry before using the vac. Doing this will make the bags last twice as long.

This is probably a few years too late but instead of spending $20 for 2/pk of bags, I use *pool* *filter* *socks* that I pull over the filter, zip tie one end, & pop it on. They cost like $10 for a 50/pk. They last forever (I use 3-4 a year). They keep all the fine dust & the bigger debris out of the pleats of the filter.

One being a 5th wheel motor home...that has been sitting for about 5 or 6 years with the top vent open. Well...in this area of the Columbia Basin in Moses Lake, Washington state..we experience DUST STORMS. I mean ...the real THING - when I say DUST STORMS! This home is going to need to be cleaned up for a friend/ relative of ours who is in the United States Military and will be attending school away from his Family this summer, I believe in the state of Carolina. So that's #1 project. #2 project is helping another friend clean up after having his bathroom rehabbed to compensate him with his physical disabilities. After watching this Video... You have successfully addressed something I've been trying to solve for a while. Buying the Rigid today and using your dual-filtration idea!!!! The only thing I don't like about any vacuum is that the exhaust will disturb and spread dust in the area you're NOT working on!@$#!!! But, a vacuum has to exhaust and there's really no "fix" for that. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!!!
@emoralesalvarado2 жыл бұрын
one thing you can try, if you still need it, is attach the exhaust port with another tube. that will redirect air to whenever place you want it. If you leave it fixed in one location, you can do it with PVC. I just purchased my Craftsman 16 gal. 6.5 Hp vacuum, and got another tube for the exhaust in my woodworking minishop. it made wonders, as air now goes out from the window

I've got a Ridgid 16 gallon shop vac model # WD16360 and it will NOT take filter bags! Ugh. Went to Home Depot, bought a 2-pack, and realized (as I'm attempting to connect filter bag) that my shop vac has no air inlet valve connector. there is nothing for the bag inlet hole to grab on to. I've been searching the internet but I can't find any reference to any filter bag available for the WD 16360. I needed to vacuum a room full of joint compound dust. I have a 2.5 gallon craftsman shop vac (I found bags for that one) and used it. But what the heck Ridgid!!?? I suppose I could jerry-rig a connector somehow. if/when I had the time.

Picture would help. Are you missing the three or 4 inch black mounting tube on the inside of the barrel to slide the filter over and fully lock? What did you find out?
@fredWaxBeans111118 ай бұрын
@@williamburke6870 Hi, thanks for the comment. The Rigid wet/dry vac that I have (vac model # WD16360) does not accommodate vacuum bags at all. It is not designed, and did not come with an "inlet deflector" on to which you would attach a vacuum bag. So it's not missing anything, it's just not compatible with using vacuum bags. If I could post a picture of the inside of the vac I would. Can't complain too much, this was a $25 Black Friday deal years ago at Home Depot and I more than got my money's worth out of it.

renaissanceman in my experience for cheapo filters the bags don't help too much but with the high dollar ones they are a must. Yes you can clean them out but who has the time to wash the filter and wait for it to dry? You usually notice the filter is clogged when you really need the shop vac and the bags are a quick change. Are they necessary for everyone? Definitely not. Are they good to have to make things easier and give you more life out of your filter? Absolutely.

It would have helped to have spent more time on how to install the filter bag so that it doesn't rip and get damaged. For example, you spent no time on showing that you have to push the part of the cardboard that blocks the opening of the bag out of the way before installing it over the plastic port. Also, it's really important to only grab the cardboard part that surrounds the round rubber seal, and carefully push it onto the plastic port, to avoid tearing the quite fragile paper bag. Anyway, for what it's worth.
