❗️WATCH this BEFORE using freedom pop (unfortunately DECEPTIVE)

It is possible to use freedom pop and aCTUALLY get free service. Unfortunately they are very deceitful in making it very difficult to use their service for free. In this video you’ll be surprised how close you have to watch the sign-up process. There are so many wrong turns that you can make, or if you don’t know to look you’ll be charged. When you try to work with them to reverse some of the charges they are absolutely in movable, and will charge you the money for your mistake. If you watch this video there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get through the entire process without excessive charges. We’ve been using freedom pop for years, and it always hasn’t been like this. We’ve always like freedom pop. We still like freedom pop but you have to watch it like a hawk. And if you’re wondering we still use freedom pop, at least for right now we do. I hope that you’re able to work with this company and not get charges that you were not anticipating. This is why you use a visa preloaded gift card when it comes to free service there’s always a catch.

I doubt a visa gift card would even work with freedompop purchases. Have you actually tested this?

Muhib Raza UPDATE: it doesn’t work apparently they don’t support preloaded Visa cards and if your looking for a cheap plan I would else since their free plan only allows you to use wifi calling, 10 texts and 25mb of data per month.

Be careful using FreedomPop! They are aggressive... Changing cards will not help, they will contact your bank and get the new card number and continue billing!

Sure, we are currently still using freedom pop, but after all the apparent trickery we just watch them like a hawk. we also watch our credit card very closely. The service does work, but it is very obvious that they are giving this free service and hoping that you will trip up. It wasn’t always like this, maybe there’s new management or something. Have you had any experiences using freedom pop, or are you just considering it. Thanks for the comment. It’s nice to have an option for free cellular but I felt it necessary to warn others so they do not get charged for something you are hoping to get for free. Wow! It is amazing how they can intentionally twist the checkout process, so if you’re not on your toes you’ll take a hit. I’ll have to check that one out.

I used Freedompop sim card before for free (about two years) but since I lost my phone overseas and the only way is to re-order a new one instead of getting a replacement card from Freedompop. Even I ordered one, I received two in the mail ($0.1 for each). So I had to cancel one and used only one of them. I downgraded the plan to basic (free services) but there are some other "hidden" charges which I was not aware at the time so I ended up being charged for $20 (called "top-up" for downgrade) and then $38.10 for trail of "premium" service. When I asked if I can get refund if canceling the services, the answer is NO since I have agreed their term and conditions when signed up the services. So they use so many deceptive schemes to get your money while advertising "FREE" . Just be careful before you decide to try this!

If you don’t watch them like a hawk they will somehow have you pay, the problem is in order to sign up you have to give them your credit card number. We’ve removed our accounts and even that was very difficult. We’ve been experimenting with another phone provider called red pocket. You don’t have to give them your credit card number you can buy a one year subscription for $60 which works out to be five dollars a month. With a plan you get 500 MB of data a month. So far this is the best we have found, we’ve had it for about a month and so far we’re happy with it. With freedom pop free is great and less they sneak in big money hits. That’s why we had to leave. We were not able to get our money back from freedom pop either. I tried everything. They are a piece of work. I hope you don’t get hit with any more charges from them.

Red Pocket (who is my current provider) just bought them out sometime this spring like May I think 2019... idk if they will change anything, but I was looking into freedom pop free plan myself, I have heard a lot of horror stories, so I don't think I'll try it after seeing this video and all the stories.

They make it so difficult, they crafted their words very carefully, To do everything they can to upgrade your plan to a paid plan rather than the free plan. We’ve removed our accounts, From freedom pop. The chances of actually getting a free account is very difficult. After fighting with their customer service which you can barely get a hold of unless you pay, we gave up. In fact I’d say we almost ran away from them. We’ve been using another service called red pocket. It’s truly five dollars a month for more than double the free version of freedom pop. You can see in the video that every time we try to cancel it there’s some hidden way that you have maneuver to make it go away. It’s hard to hear when people get taken advantage of like we did. Will never be able to recover the money. I would like to be able to tell you how to downgrade it but it’s got me so confused I can’t figure it out either. Let me know how it works. When I couldn’t get it to work I just shut my credit card down. I let the credit card company know there were unauthorized purchases from freedom pop and then shut the Credit card down. Please let me know how you made out.

@@livefree6878 I really didn't use my Credit Card since i knew this was sketchy. I bought a prepaid visa card and used it for freedom pop hoping they will not charge me and just let me have the free plan.

I’m glad that you have a credit card that is not something that they can start pounding. That was a very good move. It sounds like you’ve got a good plan. We’ve been experimenting with US mobile, Which is five dollars a month but it doesn’t have a lot of resources behind it. We’ve also got one of our phones using red pocket which is five dollars and has a lot more resources. Red pocket is working out better than US mobile. There was a time when freedom pop was a reasonable solution. We actually used them for years. I think they must’ve changed management hands. If you know of any good solutions that are economical, I’d love to explore that as well. Again I’m really glad you have a plan of attack with freedom pop. I think if you’re on your toes, you might be able to still win.

They made it like this to fool elderly people living on social security, they should be shut down for this practice. Always read the fine print or research online when applying to a new service.

You basically have to be a con artist to get what they advertise. It's a game that you have to play. If you play it right, you are rewarded. Can't believe you forgot about that SIM card. They really got you there. Do you not at least look at your credit card statement before you pay it? Or do you simply make the minimum payment every month and not worry about going into debt?

It’s definitely frustrating the way they work. Unfortunately we added this to a credit card that I had put away in a drawer that had an auto pay attached to it. We fix that problem after this incident. I have a policy Pay off the credit cards every single month. Thanks again for the comment. Since then we have found a phone service called red pocket. You pay once a year, and you don’t need to use your credit card. So they can’t charge your account with your credit card even if they wanted to. Five dollars a month, Everyone in our family likes this new service.
