Another excellent video. Great information for all of us to think about, and start digging into our own boats to ensure our valves are working correctly. Thank you.

This is where your OCD shines threw. The meticulousness of your cleaning in general and on this toilet job is outstanding, above and beyond. A credit to the way you two have chosen to live. Cudos.

Parker, your precious nerdy nikpicky back yard engineering and curiosity about how things work is a treasure. Keep it up, those qualities got Teal that most wonderful Basik catamaran. I hope your partner treasures this character as much as the rest of us do. You need a portable workbench/worktop that you can clamp on a rail or something and stow behind a locker. I'm sure you can design something perfectly elegant. Thanks for sharing your potty adventures ... keep eating all that fiber and flush, flush, flushing. Loved the video, and love your ability to repair just about anything on the boat. I thought I was a pretty good handyman around the house doing plumbing, electrical, woodworking, etc. but you have got me beaten hands down and I love it. Looking forward to your future videos and especially they changeout of the rigging because that is definitely not an easy job and I know from previous videos that you will handle it masterfully. Love the loving interaction between you and Katy. Wishing you many years of wedded bliss. I was lucky to have married a great wife of 58 years until I lost her to cancer 2 years ago November. I hope the two of you surpass that record, and I know that you are going to have some great adventures to share when you finish getting the new boat ready to hit the ocean once more. ❤

Based on my own history of clumsiness, I found my self holding my breath during your footage of disassembling and cleaning parts on the dock. If it was me doing that, I definitely would have knocked important parts into the water. Your skills amaze me.

Great video, it never ceases to amaze me at the short cuts some owners have taken that actually compromise safety. A job that should be done at least yearly. Hope 2024 treats you well.

Very happy to see you two back at it and as always enjoy the video content! Yes, in my case, I am familiar with the antisiphon / vent aspects required in plumbing, but I personally gained value from watching in how you thought twice about what you working with / assumptions and discovered that the valve you were looking at was actually for something else. Quite easily overlooked and a good reminder in diagnosis for all of us. I'm the same way. I get so wrapped up in just what I am working on and easily think my assumptions of the project are correct / related to just what I am focused on. I'm quite guilty in always trying to solve problems under a microscope vision without allowing myself to step back and re-think. Wish you two a very happy, healthy, and exciting new year! Not too exciting though, try to make sure those lightning strikes don't get too wild:-)

Dude, you could market that skill! The fact your familial experience developed a tolerance to what, I have heard, is one of most detested jobs on the water... Offer 'preventative maintenance' in each port you enter, you could make a frigg'in profit by cruising! I hope this gives you a chuckle, rather than a gag reflex! It was so good of you, to take his stinky self to dinner, and sit at the same table, was so adorable of you!

I am really liking your channel. The more you guys post, the better you are getting with the videos. And thanks for putting in some of the stormy weather. Too many other channels show little of it. They just tell how bad the storm was but not show much of it. We like to experience some of what you experience. As for the boat work in this video. Well done and yes, a shit of a job, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Peter Australia

Great job with the Head maintenance! That would have been a good time to replace most of the sanitary hoses. They may look good but with age they become permeable and will leave an unfavorable lingering scent in the boat.

@2:16 Couldn't you use a garden hose and blow water from the through hull back up into the toilet to unclog it?
@williamstreet4304

This is a great presentation of the marine head maintenance. I saw one thing that I question. The new antisiphon loop appears to be significantly lower than the shower loop. Is it sufficiently below the waterline when healed (rail in the water)? If not, you may want to extend it a bit. Alternatively, you could remember to close the thru hull when on passage. But I know I would forget.
@Boundless_Adventure
@Boundless_Adventure 9 ай бұрын
The anti siphoned loop is still high above the waterline but yes it is lower than the shower loop. I think we’re safe with its height. No issues as of yet!
