Thanks for a really informative video. I've been buying DTF transfers for the last several years for my shirt business and I've always wanted a printer but I've seen several people talk about the maintenance and print head clogs. I'm happy to keep my DTF guy busy with about 300inch every month. Thankfully I don't have the headache of the machine.

You are right I converted a Epson P600. It was fine for awhile. I think I sucked too much sludge from the bottom of the white bottle. It locked up my printer instantly. I tried to work on it. It is totally a rabbit hole since its not designed to work on like a DTF printer. You would have to be a Epson tech to work on that printer clog. So I agree a print on demand DTF provider is best for the newbie.

Let us know when you are ready to get a Mimaki. They have some crazy deals on the TXF-150 right now. or the TXF-300 is also at its lowest price since its release.

@@chooseams What do you think of the CobraFlex new units? Would you be interested in us funding one for you, and then giving you some work for the kids we help and only take so much a print? Something fair and easy where we both win and the kids too? Jeff

So what about the small guys that are selling finished shirts or whatever to people and not just prints? I feel like we still need a home printer option. What printer is going to be the least maintenence for the best price?

That’s the thing. Unless you are doing volume where you can run the thing for at least an hour every day you will run into nozzle clogs, printer head problems and then you also have to deal with the quality from the starter printers. I really don’t find it worth it to get a starter printer. Just outsource your production until you have the volume to buy 2 head 24” printer. And I’m not even talking about my service. Simply buy from any vendor until you have the volume built up. Don’t have to worry about printer maintenance, headaches, quality or TaT. Just focus on building your relationships with clients when starting. Obviously AMS Transfers Plus takes all of this middleman stuff also off your hands in case you’re still interested.

2 questions .. Have you looked at or what do you think about the EZ Jet Pro 24 {supposed to have an inline system no fumes} also what do you of uv dtf ? the wife likes stickers lol

I purchased a procolor L1800 in December it is my trash bin now my question to you is I am think about converting a 8550 can I use the pro rip software from the L1800 with the 8550 I live in Alvin not far from you I mainly print for friends and family I have a sublimation printer but I miss the darker tshirts and vivid colors of DTF

I would avoid converted printers. Easier to outsource till you can get a big machine

Technically there’s no print head that’s specifically designed for DTF ink. I will say, after running a printer with a DX7 print head and then printers with i3200 print heads, the i3200 is better by far.

Purchase new and empty cartridges fill it with the cleaning solution install the empty ink cartridge with the solution onto the mount draw out the in solution that is in your machine till it is clear with the cleaning solution is in the cleaning syringe.

Exactly what I'm saying. "Don't do what I did but order prints from me" Sounds like someone trying to dissuade people from becoming competition and instead turning them into demand so he doesn't have to keep replacing print heads if the printer sits idle.
