I just purchased the R2000 from Procolored, we go out of town frequently for events for about 3 days at a time. I have no issue with doing the maitanence but I need to know where to purchase the Vacation Tubes/Cartridges. Been searching online and am having a hard time finding it. Also, I am a Mac user and have a old PC that is ready for set up for Rip software. In my case doing custom work I work on illustrator on the Mac, save to DropBox and open the image on the PC from Dropbox. So you can edit your image in Illustrator to remove colors then load to the Rips software, hope that helps. This video is great, thank you!!! We are looking to the transition, we print a couple shirts a month and feel this will be a great improvement on finances and production.

You gotta remember the reason the times seem so long is because you are essentially doing 2 prints. There is one print in the color and the other print is the white background. Not sure but I assume there is a delay between the them to allow for drying. Even though it is 2 printings they both occur roughly at the same time.

Very informative! What can you suggest for me as a beginner on DTF? I have been doing vinyl up to now, and weeding has cost me a lot of time. I am interested in buying one. do I need to buy an oven too?
@HaiTech2 ай бұрын
i fully understand. We did vinyl for years and were very successful with it, but DTF has so much potential. There's so many factors that come into play when recommending a printer. I think for starting off i would go with the F8 or F13. it's about a $900 difference between the two (printer with oven). The F8 will print a max width of up to 8.2 inches and the F13 will do 13 inches wide. I would strongly recommend getting a DTF oven, even if it's not from procolored. There's a crucial step where after you've sprinkled on the adhesive powder, it needs to be melted. you could use a heat press to do it, but it would take effort and time. not very convenient as it takes about 2-3 minutes to melt the powder. with the oven it's more streamlined and free you up to do other things while the image is being cured. hope that helps

great question. this printer is made for apparel. if you want something that will stick on hard surfaces like the ones you mentioned, you would want to check out UV DTF printers and UV Printers. UV DTF printers make stickers that you can stick on to various different surfaces. they're permanent, and not something you can peel and reuse. UV printers print directly onto the item, i've never used one so i don't know too much about it. you do not need a cutting machine for DTF printers. DTF printers need DTF ink, adhesive powder, and film. i would recommend getting a DTF oven to melt the adhesive. if you're confused about the printing process I made a video about the DTF printing process here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aau9mWiJaJypr68si=uQfG0LRRJKzOgq2m now for UV DTF printers you will need UV DTF Ink, a liquid called Varnish, and the A-B film. those consumables typically come with the printer.

Gracias por tu video, como hago para que el diaeño me salga mas centrado
Thank you for this video, its very informative. Before I buy my DTf printer, since I have no room for ths printer inside my house, woud it be ok to have it in my garage? Also, do you have to apply the white powder right after its done printing?
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
I think the garage could be okay if it is climate controlled. It really depends on your area. If it's too hot or humid it may not be ideal for the print head or ink. right after you print the image it is recommended that you add the powder and then bake it. You don't have to do it immediately after the print but i would do it within 5-10 mins that way it doesn't get smeared, dust, lint on it. once you add the powder and bake it, you can store it if needed.

Great video dude! Question regarding the saving ink thing, say you’re printing on a white shirt, and it’s pointless to use white ink on it, can’t you remove the whites in photoshop to make them transparent before you upload it into the procolored software?
@HaiTech10 ай бұрын
Yes you can! Hopefully in a future update the rip software can do that without having to use photoshop.

Best video I have seen so far. Planning to make t shirts for my daughter, not everyday use. Should I get dtf or white toner. Thank you
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
i've never used a white toner but i have seen a few videos about it. i would recommend doing your research on both, compare prices, maintenance, cost of consumables, features. if you're just doing this for family shirts and for fun i wouldn't get either of these printing methods. I would just get heat transfer paper.

Hi managed to set up the rip.. but I'm having an issue with trying to print an image. i don't know what is the correct size to print out image. I have an Epson L1800 And the program is a RIPDTG 10.1 VERSION..
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
Hi, i'm not familiar with that software or printer. you may have to reach out to the manufacturer or sales team of that company so they can give you instructions on how to setup and use their RIP software.

Have been looking into a printer for awhile now, seen this one before, but I was also interested in a R1390 setup I saw. Any advice on that setup, if? you would know, would be greatly appreciated! I'm very hesitant on all of the printers because of the warranties or lack there of...thx your video was the best help!
@HaiTech4 ай бұрын
The R1390 and L1800 setup should be identical since the only difference is the print head. Their tech support is pretty responsive from my experience. The thing you have to know is that their based in China so the time difference may not be convenient. If there are parts that are defective or need replacement, they'll send you the parts and instruction videos but ultimately you will have to do it yourself. there is a repair center but it's somewhere in California (LA area).

I am having issues with my printer an I’m on a bit of a time crunch. I can’t get a hold of anyone from Procolored! I hope this is ok to ask you here… Everything seems to be printing fine except black. It’s coming out brown. I’ve pulled the black in through, I’ve added more black ink.. and it’s still brown. I followed your settings for colour, still brown. I have no idea what’s happening! Let me know if you have a sec to help! Thank you in advance!

Question on the on the L805 first generation what’s the largest print u can do
@HaiTech7 ай бұрын
the first generation is sheet film only (A4 size). The A4 size film measures 8.27 x 11.69 inches, only slightly larger than the close equivalent to U.S letter size 8.5 x 11 inches. the 2nd generation uses a roller film. Roll Film 8.2 Inch x 328 FT. so 8.2 inches is the widest you can print. now if you flip your design to landscape then you can print as wide as 328 ft and 8.2 inches height. which one do you have or plan on getting? they just sent me the 2nd generation L805, it's sitting in my office. it's no bigger than a regular canon inkjet printer lol. very compact. i will have a video on it

@@HaiTech well I’m planning on getting the first generation for my little shirt business
@HaiTech7 ай бұрын
@@chitogaspar9473 the 2nd generation just came out. i think it's about a $200 difference. be sure to compare the differences and see if it makes more sense for your business. i think the main difference is the white ink circulation and the roller film.

Great video! You did not mention setting the powder in an oven or under the heat press (unless I missed it). Did you have to go through the process of setting the powder with the oven?
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
Hi, yeah i left out some of the printing process itself and wanted to talk about the printer, maintenance. i do have a video that talks about the printing process here kzbin.info/www/bejne/aau9mWiJaJypr68. we do add the adhesive powder to the print and then bake it in an oven made for DTF prints. the temperature is set to 110-120 Celsius for about 3 minutes

lots of potential with DTF printing. I wish this was around years ago! i have done screen printing, vinyl, DTG. DTF has it's con's too but overall i think it's less hassle than the others and much more cost effective for being able to print FULL color.

thank you for the video, is the best explained video in the maintaining the printer clean. Do they dtfs feel plasticky? I have been ordering my DTFs online and I am planing to buy this printer soon. i am just concern about the feel of the DTFs. How is are DTFs do they feel great? thank you and keep making your job great.
@HaiTechКүн бұрын
it does feel plastic, but a thin layer. definitely thinner than screen printing ink. not as soft as DTG. there are ways to make it really soft by using a feature called "air holes" in the Pro Rip software.

I’ve heard if you don’t print within 10 hours the printer goes bad. Can you explain or if you have a video on how the process works on how to store or the process if you know you aren’t going to use the machine for more than a week. TIA!!
@HaiTech8 ай бұрын
i have left this printer for days without using it without any problems. although i don't recommend doing that often. if you are not going to be able to print with it every day, then i would re-think about buying a DTF printer. this equipment is made to make money and be used daily. now if you are going on vacation, then there's a kit (in description) you can buy to prevent the printhead and tubes from drying (damage).
@KOK-sc8ez Жыл бұрын
Hi great video! When you showed the print times, it seems to be a very slow printer. Has the printer software been updated since you filmed this? Anything to make the printing faster? 16 minutes+ seems like a very long time for an 11x17 inch print and you still have to cure it after.

would you say that using rubbing alcohol is better to leave inthe print heads with the clean dampers than their solution that procolored promotes? What is youre preference when you leave youre printer unused for a long period of time?Thank you in advance.
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
i would use print head solution. you could buy theirs or you can buy aftermarket on amazon. i wouldn't use 100% rubbing alcohol though as it could be too concentrated.
@Delfire Жыл бұрын
I have heard that you have to shake the inks every day, mainy the white. Do you find that the case? Or just doing the head cleaning is good enough
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
the models now have white ink circulation built in. mine is the previous generation and did not have that feature. even without it i just do print head cleanings and its enough. if you print daily you should be fine. if you don't print daily then i would wait until your business grows before buying... or just print some designs anyway and set it aside.

Is this a printer that can handle gang sheets and does it have a limit on how long the sheet can be? I’m looking to get a beginner-ish DTF printer for my own customers but then to also sell transfers and trying to find the perfect machine for those needs, to start with!
@HaiTech Жыл бұрын
a roll of film can be as long as 320+ feet. there's no limit on how long it can be. the widest film available is about 13 inches wide. if you want to start a shirt business and sell transfers than DTF is the way to go. there are some people who only sell already made transfers. the customer just buys it and press it onto their own shirts. saves you money on buying shirts, and shipping cost.
