You can but it depends on the game. Battlefield 1 is a good example that runs at 1080p/60 High settings with Pro, instead of 900p/60 Low settings like regular PS4.

On standard PS4 games the Pro will use super sampling so it will render the image higher than 1080p and then downscale it for the 1080p screen giving a sharper, smoother image. It also has better anti-aliasing as well as a higher, smoother frame rate so even standard games that haven't been given a Pro mode or patch should still look and run better. Not to mention the fact that you are future proofing your console for when you do get a 4K TV so for the sake of about £80 difference why would anyone really want to buy a standard PS4 rather than a Pro?

The PS4 Pro will show it's power over the years, trust me. It's not meant to show it's power right now since most PS games right now are made to work optimally on the normal PS4. Like Sony said, the PS4 Pro can be seen as the 'high end' Playstation, whereas the normal PS4 would be the mid-range version. The games that will release over the coming years will become more demanding, thus the PS4 Pro will have an easier time handling them, until newer versions come along, that is. Also, try PSVR on the Pro, bro!

Not a necessary upgrade. Most people play consoles at their TV set anyway, which is usually a few meters from the couch. PC is another thing where you sit so close to the display, you need at least 1080p for it to look sharp. However if I'd buy a PS4 today, it would definitely be the Pro. I mean why not? :)

The Heartless it's dust in your PS4. I just took my system apart to clean it before I sold it and I was amazing by how much dust was in there collected over the years. Once I put it back together the system was quiet as a mouse. You need specific screws and it can be nerve wrecking if you're new to it but I highly recommend doing that

To get the 4K resolution option you need the HDMI 2.0a, (HDMI 2.0a allows HDR transmission), (like the one that came with the Pro) ? After you plugged the HDMI they provided did the resolution option screen then have the last 2 resolution options available? If it did the HDMI you used before was NOT HDMI 2.0 and then NOT 4K. Correct? I am doing my research before getting a PS4 Pro and 4K HDR TV. I think the Pro only works with HDR 1000 also so you may want to check your TVs specs on that also. The pro will also have more resolution options, (maybe 1400p or 4K) and more frames per second options like 30fps, or 60fps. Depending on the game it may also have graphical affects you can turn on like light shaders or anti aliasing. No matter what the options the Pro SHOULD, (after patched) run faster or smoother at the SAME frame rate or higher than the PS4.

It is called Supersampling, it upscales your 1080p screen resolution giving smoother, sharper yet less jagged screen graphics. Definitely recommend even with a 1080p, it will make a difference.

I would recommend the Pro, first of all it has better hardware up to 30% faster than the slim and it does have 3 USB 3 ports, if you want a new PS4 this is the one to get, point !

I only paid 340 for my ps4 pro and the slim is 280-310. There's wasn't much of a difference in price so I just got the pro and I have a 4k TV

You know the problem is that like every 2nd or 3rd AAA game runs under 1080p on the normal ps4. You can even get (much) upgradet graphics in games like Final fantasy 15 or Tomb raider

I played ps4 pro on a 4k screen for a long time now. When I switched to 1080p just to check the different's, the image feelt much more unsharp and blurred. 1080p losed It's beauty when I got used to 4k

Christian Abudinen I got one too along with the pro but yeah you'll see a slight difference and if the game you play supports 2K/4K it will be enhanced. This guy here doesn't know what he's talking about to be honest but it still improves he 1080p FULL HD games slightly too! Hope that helps

well with the new PS4 update coming up, older games that don't have pro mode can run in boost mode which lets older games benefit from the pros better hardware.

4k is amazing. I just got my 4k TV and the difference is night and day, watching movies are like watching plays, I got the pro also and it's just great I don't think I could ever go back to 1080 it crazy...the first movie I watched on it was inception and I was like "wow this looks fake af" then I thought "no" everything else looks fake, this is how it would look if I was on set while it was being filmed lol

the up down scaling your talking about dose not do what you said it did ok let me explain if you have a 4k tv the games that run at 1440 get up scaled with the checkerboard up scaling but ig your using a 1080 tv it super samples it and that improves the AA without using any real AA it dose not use the checkerboard up scaling for 1080 games like skyrim do the full 4k and super sample that to 1080 as for how thy cap a 4k vid you use a HDCP stripper to a cap card or just shut off HDCP in the settings and use a cap card but that has its own problems like netfix not working skyrim last of us remastered mantis burn racing all have native 4k do some research before you make a video next time
