Actually I like squat toilets. More convenient and clean. No sitting. Also some of the flush button is a pedal you step on. Also good for males as you don't have to worry about urine shooting onto the floor. Its usually caught by the squat toilet which is elongated. So all pluses for me and no negatives. LOL

Yes I prefer squat ones for public toilets. They are more hygienic as none of my body part has to touch the toilet lol but I never see it here in Australia unfortunately

Public toilets that use the western seating syle is very dirty IMO. Chinese squat toilet much superior. Most things in China are superior. Too many druggies in Australia too. Have you seen the boxes for used needles inside the toilet??? Super scary. @@wuhui

But squat toilet when males piss also can go everywhere if not aim properly. I will usually hose the surrounds after using. My policy is always been, I leave the place cleaner than before I came in.

Actually I find the opposite to be truth. Urine goes all over the place when trying to aim at the toilet bowl. Urine is falling down at an angle and from further away that makes it very inaccurate. With a squat toilet you're urinating straight ahead and you're a lot closer to the elongated squat toilet. If I over shoot its caught at the far end of the squat toilet. Remember I'm a lot lower and closer to the squat toilet. Maybe you haven't really used a squat toilet much and is just imagining how it would be. I have experience. @@bisaboleh
I don't know why these are cultural shocks. There are a lot of people in many cities in Asia. And Malaysia I believe have squat toilet. They even have hose to clean up from what I was told. This is from what I heard from a Singapore airline stewardess. So China is safer and cleaner should not be a shock. Splitting are not that common nowadays in China. It is much worse in the west. And I ain't talk about old people but many people in sports are splitting all over the place in front of TV cameras.

Actually there's a lot of ppl who spit too in Malaysia (by all races). Now, i'm encouraging this habit nor saying that it's good but just pointing out that there are ppl who do so in Malaysia which i've witnessed quite a few times
