Just completed my Gen Chem I final with a 97%!! I was looking for videos on how to prepare for Gen Chem II and I stumbled upon this video. Not only did I just subscribed, but I'll be watching your vids as I go through the next semester! Thanks Professor :3

We actually started off with kinetics week 1. I’m a little nervous but I did well in chemistry 1, hopefully it goes smooth. I do enjoy this subject.

Glad I stumbled across this, it’s been maybe 2-3 years since I’ve taken (and didn’t pass) gen chem 2 in community college , and now I am in University caught up with my math pre reqs and I’m curious whether I should back track and take gen chem 1 to refresh at the University level? Or just try and relearn the concepts for gen chem 2 and take it again at the university level? (I’m afraid that the material might be more detailed or they will have stuff I’ve never seen before) what would you suggest? Thank you !!

Hi Abraham, thanks for your comment. I have a whole gen chem 2 playlist uploaded, and all the videos are in order. My suggestion would be to watch the first few videos on intermolecular forces, and see if you can hang.

Thank you for the Openstax link! I wish all teachers would let us know about such amazing free(!) content :) Also: What are your tips for getting more confident with the maths in Chem? Remembering all the constants/conversions/units is a bit overwhelming sometimes

Katya, if I had to give one piece of advice I would say to get used to allowing the units of the numbers guide you through the calculations. Ending up with the same units as a result of a problem will help you catch yourself diving when you should have multiplied, etc. Ex: did you end up with inverse grams, when your result should be grams? Also, repetition. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of repetition. See what I did there? Lol!

I'm sorry to read this. It is a very tough course, but in theory it should not make people cry!

@@generalchemistrywithmikeit was Chem 2; it was having to write out and balance the equation that expressed the experiment we were doing, with no examples done for us but maybe once. 😃 I like it when the teacher goes through every problem/every other problem step by step (on the chalkboard) at the end of the class, or at the next class, to see if you did it right and to show you how he did it. I am going through your lectures though. I appreciate them. I want to be able to talk to my college daughter who will be taking chem 2 next semester🙂

Hello! Do you happen to have a video explaining coordination complexes and transition metal naming? We are covering it in my chem 202 class and your explanations make alot of sense in my brain. Thank you in advance! Love all your videos!
