Getting lots of questions and comments regarding "blacking out" and why did he stop the Charger and not the other vehicle. Here is a snippet from the Trooper's narrative: I observed a vehicle approaching me from the rear, traveling at a high rate of speed. I activated my rear radar antenna and obtained a speed of 86 mph in a 65 mph zone. I then slowed down and allowed the vehicle (A Dodge Charger) to pass. TRP.'s Caviness, Harrell, and I then attempted to open the driver's door of the vehicle, but it was locked. We then gave several verbal commands to unlock the door and step out. Mr. Cox and his passenger, who was later identified as Mr. Jadarious Mc Coy, refused to open the doors. TRP. Caviness then used his collapsible baton to break the glass on the driver's side door. I then retrieved a glass break hammer from my unit and broke the driver's side rear window. Both occupants still refused to unlock the doors. TRP. Caviness then peeled the window back and grabbed Mr. Cox by the shirt. Mr. Cox was then removed from the vehicle through the driver's side window. I then took control of Mr. Cox and placed him in handcuffs. TRP. Caviness was then able to unlock the doors of the vehicle. He then had the passenger crawl out of the vehicle via the driver's side door. Both subjects were then taken into custody without further incident. DRIVER was booked into the jail on the following charges: felony citation Fleeing-in Vehicle or Convey -Substantial Danger of Death 5-54-125 (d), misdemeanor citation # 000A204228 Speeding more than 15 mph over limit 27-50-302 (a)(7), Reckless Driving - 1st Off. 27-50-302, Driving vehicle- No lights at night 27-14-204. PASSENGER was served with a felony probation revocation warrant. He "blacks out" at about the 02:40 mark. He attempted to evade police by turning off all his lights. Police commonly refer this as "blacking out" or "blacked out"
@redwolfexr2 жыл бұрын
"refused to unlock the doors" -- is THAT what they call being held at gunpoint these days? "Drop your hands and I will fucking kill you" is sorta understood when three cops are pointing Glocks with high intensity lights at your head... Guarantee you they would have screamed hands up if he had TRIED to unlock it. I don't have an issue with them breaking the windows - but they can at LEAST be honest and not pretend they were gonna let them drop their hands to unlock it.

This is worded badly still. I'm going to fix that "There was a vehicle behind me that was in the middle of a pass when I observed the subject vehicle approaching behind our vehicles. My rear radar clocked him at 86 mph in a 65 mile per hour zone The first vehicle passed me driving perhaps a 70 mph and the Dodge charger following behind it at the same speed, they both pulled into the right lane in front of me But the Dodge charger was a dick head who had been driving like an a hole before that so I thought it was a good time to pull him over

License plate lights burn at the same time as the taillights, so when the taillights go out, so do the tag lights. However, reflectors and brake lights still work, as does the left turn signal when changing lanes.

The ASP officers are fearless, not to mention having driving skills of NASCAR level. One thing that I DON'T UNDERSTAND, is why these officers don't carry a window punch. A window punch is a spring-loaded high carbon steel punch no bigger than a pencil, that instantly shatters a car window the first time, 99% of the time, thus saving time and energy of having to beat on a window with a baton. Maybe it's better that the do beat with a baton, to work out their frustration and anger on the window before they do it to the driver. Just saying.

I don't know why more cops don't carry spring loaded punches in their rigs.........I used to know cops who did. Windows break VERY easily by applying a punch to the lower corner of a tempered window. You just gotta be careful because the window will shatter and make sure your hand doesn't got thru at the same time..........Helluva lot easier than wasting all that energy beating the window.....

If they started requiring an IQ test before the driving test things like this might not be happening as often. It takes a stupid person to run from the police.

I was coming home from a holiday weekend last year in mid-Missouri and was passed by at least a dozen Dodge Chargers doing 80+ in a 70 mph zone, not much faster than I was going. But then a Dodge Viper passed me on the shoulder doing way more than that, whipped in front of me and passed all of the Chargers, I'd guess doing at least 90-100 mph. It was 'interesting' but unsafe as hell and I was about to dial 9-1-1 when I saw a highway patrol SUV trailing all of them from a close distance, minus lights and siren, almost like an official escort. I was doing 70+ and soon lost sight of them and never did see anything more. It was a strange sight, especially the highway patrol vehicle not pulling someone over.
