dash camping trailers are a great idea for a heaps of reasons the best reason is it takes the bulky heavy stuff out of the car like a roof Top tent and but if you're going to use a trailer for work you need to see what the largest box or part or thing that you are going to carry is going to fit because if it doesn't it's not going to work. Towing a trailer around All the time will get old pretty quickly, unhooking and leaving a expensive trailer somewhere when you don't need it becomes it's own problem I think it all depends on price and size, but a purpose built off road Camper makes a lot of sense especially when their is more than 2 people in the family.

For what this is it’s pretty awesome. It’s not the full camper trailer with everything but for me it’s a go anywhere unit that isn’t 2 plus tonne that will go anywhere the vehicle will. We’re off to cape York for 4 weeks next year and I’d rather unpack out of that with the swags on top rather than try and fit everything in the car. Big thumbs up from me - trailmaster have been around a long time also, and it’s all Aussie made 💪

Hey Dave - maybe a link to where to hire them from would be good mate? Wouldn't suit a lot of offroaders but might suit many who don't go hard or park up and then go hard, or the majority of people who might not be into offroading and just want a cheap soft road camper trailer. My bro is the type who might look to hire one of these so would be good to have a link.

I would soon tire of transferring all my gear out, storing it and loading back into the trailer every time I want go camping. As a fully fitted out hire it seems practical but as a dual purpose utility/camper it's a no from me.

The overall concepts of the trailer are identical, they are also totally made in Australia using quality Australian products, both hot dipped galvanised chassis and well assembled. The Trailmaster ACTIVE POD has spent considerable time and money engineering a product which has eliminated some of the shortcomings found in other brands. Our Chassis design cradles the tub, providing additional protection and also reduces the height of the lip of the tub improving accessibility in everyway. The tub is 2.1 metres long, making it much easier to contain so many products which are longer than 1.8 metres, including humans; indeed we have approx. 30% more capacity than others. Our drawbar comes standard at 1.7m on our base models and 1.9m on our Pioneer. Our front mounted storage box is a custom designed integrated unit which utilises the void immediately forward of the tub and matches the design of the trailer. Our Roof bars have tie-downs at the base which allow you to raise the lid with cargo affixed to the bars....very handy for immediate access. The step which has been designed immediately behind the mud guard is very handy for the little ones to access the tub or even shorter adults to get better access. We hired a pod camper and took it to Carpenter Rocks a couple of weeks ago, weather was bad, they also supply awning walls with camper which was great, plus my wife is happy to go camping again 😄

Bahahha mate that trailer would last 5 minutes on proper off-road tracks. This is a weekend camper for a caravan park - stop pretending it’s anything more! Just get a proper work trailer.
