So good to see Karri again, feels like forever since she's done a case. Blossom too, fine evidence of there being bad owners, not bad dogs. "Big scary Rotweiller" no, big cuddly lump!

So true! My next-door neighbors had a rottie years ago. About twice Blossoms size. Named Sixx. At first he would bark at me through the fence whenever I was in the back yard. I'd say "Shut the F up dumbass!" Didn't take long before I could go over and talk to him. Then bent the wire so I could get a hand through and scratch his ears. THEN every time I went in the backyard he'd bark and run over to "our spot" for an ear scratch! Hate to think what would happen to someone sneaking in their yard in the middle of the night because I'd miss seeing it!

I think Dr. Matt stopped doing vet ranch cases. Seldom do I see a vet ranch story by any of the dr.s Dr. Dave a couple over the past few months. That's why they are the abandoned pet project. They take so few cases.

My pup was also named Blossom passed away earlier this year at 15 years old. She was a Husky/Border Collie mix and the Blossom in this video reminds me so much of her. We rescued her when she was about a year old from some horrible people who locked her in a breezeway all day. They gave her to us with a 5lb bag of food and said it was good for a month! 3 months and a lot of love later she had gained almost 25lbs to get back to a health weight. We were going to change her name but it fit her so well, she blossomed from a poor run down pup into the best dog I ever owned. We went on adventures everywhere from Civil War events to hiking on the Appalachian trail and everything in between. Her favorite thing was putting on her harness for the topless Jeep rides which usually involved getting her ice cream! Glad she found a good home and you guys do awesome work! Keep it up!

I'm sorry for your loss! I know what it feels like. My dog's name was Jordan, he was a German Shepherd / Border Collie mix. He was 18 years old and passed away last saturday. He had a heart attack last friday night and fell into a coma. The vet couldn't help him, so I had to let him go. I'm devastated, been crying for days, feel paralysed and completely empty inside.

I fully believe in what I call "shelter shock". Just sweet animals who become very scared and shy in shelters which makes their perceived personality totally wrong but in a proper environment, they're much friendlier. My friend adopted a cat recently in her local shelter's "shy cat room." But he's not shy at all - he's a total lap cat. Shelter Shock is real, my friends. Very, very real.

This platform is the perfect business model to help these sweet but neglected or otherwise abused animals. It gives us not only access but participation and we can clearly see our $ at work. And, of course, everyone can enjoy the videos on their own merit. Sometimes it is difficult to get through them with dry eyes but I am always so happy for them...seeing their transformation at the end of the story. If these videos change just one heart or encourage one individual to spay or neuter, then it's time and energy well spent. Thank you for all it is that you do, TeamVetRanch.

Dr. Karri, You are one exceptional Doctor/lady. When I saw Blossom's initial presentation and you said she was mange negative, I said to myself, Inflammatory Dermatitis. Antibiotics for her ears/eyes/possible cellulitis from scratching and "Apoquel" and Blossom will start to Fill out hair and weight within weeks. I'm sure you can't respond as far as if Apoquel was used because someone may see it as a product endorsement on your part. Since I have freedom of speech and really don't care if someone considers what I say a product endorsement, I want to share this. One of my dogs is a beautiful 11 y/o female German Shepard. She started with a small are of what our present Vet called inflammatory dermatitis. Our previous Vet called it everything from Black Mange to a parasitic infestation. Close to $1500.00 later in medications, testing, ect my baby girl had lost almost all her hair, oozing sores from scratching and lost close to 30 lbs in weight. She looked like an abandoned/neglected dog which was the furthest from the truth. I could see in her eyes her quality of life was gone and she was living in agony. As hard as it was for me to make the decision, I had to make peace with the fact my little girl was living an existence (at this point couldn't call it a life) and the proper thing to do was ending her misery with having her euthanized. That night my wife came home from work and told me a co-worker told her of another Vet that was over the top amazing. Just like the Vets that work with Abandoned Pet Project. The rub, that vet was 65 miles one way from where we lived. Needless to say, 0800 the next morning I called the vets office and I guess they heard the desperation in my voice an fit me into their schedule that day. We took the trek, but I was not very optimistic because of everything that had been done over the past 30 days with nothing but worsening symptoms. We went in, I felt so embarrassed around the other customers because like I said, at this point her appearance was that of neglect/abandonment. They brought Kimura and I into an exam room, this young man, our Vet, and my little girls savior walked in gave her a good once over, looked at me and said, "I'm almost positive I know what this is. I'm going to give you a 2-week Rx for Prednisone for her inflammation and this other medication Apoquel you give her once a day. If I'm correct, you will see a change in the next 7 days, I would like to see her back in 1 week." It was a long ride home, with very little hope in my eyes but I figured 5-7 more days couldn't be any worse than what she has already endured. Day #3 of the prednisone/Apoquel, I came home that morning after working a 24* shift (I'm a Firefighter/Tactical Paramedic) and my little girl met me at the door, with bright eyes and wagging tail, something I hadn't seen in over a month. I won't go into my emotional response but it wasn't very manly. By her 1 week follow-up, her hair was beginning to slowly fill out. Due to my work schedule I wasn't able to attend her follow-up. When I got home the next morning from another 24* shift my wife informed me Kimura's appointment went well, our Vet said to finish out the Prednisone and the Apoquel but even after she completely healed, and she would completely heal she would need to take the Apoquel once a day until her final day. I jumped back into my truck, made the trek to the Vet for one sole purpose, to look that young man in the eyes, shake his hand and Thank him for saving my baby girls life, Because that is exactly what he did. Within the 1st 30 days of her being on the Apoquel, she gained back most of the 30 lbs she had lost and her coat had returned completely, thicker and shinier than it was before. The other thing that happened in that 1st 30 days, my wife and I had our other 2 dogs and 4 cats records transferred to our new vet, Kimura's Guardian Angel. I have people ask me all the time why we drive so far for our vet, my response is, "You know what Kimura went through, so if I have to explain why, your not going to understand." With the work that you do Dr. Karri with the other vets of the Abandoned Pet Project, I hope that every single one of your customers and the customers of the other A.P.P. Vets, take the time to look you all in the eyes, shake your hand, and sincerely & wholeheartedly Thank You for everything you do every single day. It is nothing short of AMAZING!!!!! I apologize to everyone for my mini-novel post.

Dan Siemer Bless you. I teared up when you said you drove to the vet to personally thank the him. ❤ I completely understand why you transferred all your pets' care to the new vet, but is it difficult for your pets? My cat tolerated the 7 min drive to her vet moderately well, and then I moved which made the drive apx 20-25 min. That did NOT go over well at all and it was especially stressful if she was feeling poorly, which became more frequent as she got older.

Sadly, I have seen breeders produce puppies from dogs prone to demodex, passing on the misery. Adopt, don't shop! I've given literally thousands of therapeutic baths, she was good as gold! Have seen purebred dogs so bad that they had to be sedated cuz their skin hurt so bad. Blossom will be someones gr8 buddy!

Such a beautiful pupper - inside and out! She's just so hungry for attention and love; it makes me sick to know that her "owners" deprived her of proper care and spoiled with love and adoration. Thank God for Vet Ranch and now beautiful Blossom is on her way to the life she always deserved.

What a sweet, sweet girl. My emotions were tugging hard. How could we breed such kind creatures and treat them this way. I can't handle the cruelty some humans display towards their best ally.

That was probably the first bath Blossom had ever had. Dogs are so forgiving. No matter what people did to her, she leads with her heart.
