Im currently an intern(trainee) at bm tax. However unlike you I realized I don’t want to become lawyer. I received many offers from big law firms to start as an associate after I graduate. I’m from a country with a civil law juridisction, so an llm is enough for us to start as a jr associate. However I feel like I’m not a fit in the corporate world, especially the law firms. I have 0 things in common with the people working here, and ofcourse some may say you only work there to earn money. But for me the working environment is so important, especially my colleagues. Moreover I feel so stupid, compared to all my peers working here. Sometimes my head literally breaks in two, because I don’t know where to start researching - lot of problems are so vague. It’s so hard to tell anyone about my situation. Everyone tells me I am living the dream of every law student - receiving many offers, still everyday I feel so disappointed in myself for not being happy with my current situation. I’m postponing my thesis in order to get more time to figure it out what I want to do in life. Glad to see you found your passion :)

Thanks for the motivation Gordon, seriously I’m doubting my passion in law now. My grade was heavily affected due to the COVID and online teaching scenario, it was really hard for me to maintain same level of quality in my exams no matter how hard I tried. Knowing that law is an industry that really focus on GPA, I’m nearly at the edge of giving up....

Omg you have been to italy? please introduce some of them to me if they are working in legal field. I also appreciate if you can help me using your own experiences. I really can use good advice.. im planning to apply for milan university 2022. I have two questions 1. is the over qualification issue it italy or it is just canada and U.S? I mean should I take phd or another LLm (I already have one) or just a simple course in some institution? If I take phd it would become harder to take job considering that I don't like academic positions? 2. What major should I apply for. International trade law? International private law? Or corporate law? My main goal is working as a lawyer for a corporate which sends me to international trips if necessary I mean i don't wanna be a divorce attorney or something INSIDE the borders of italy. What should I do. Where should I start? waiting for your msg. Thx in advance.
