After taking off 3 years to care for my mother with cancer I’m having trouble convincing any company that I deserve a job. I have 15 years experience as an office manager and administrative assistant and have great skills but all they see is a huge gap in my resume. I’m beyond depressed living in my parents home at 35 and broke. I’m losing faith I’m ever going to get back on my feet and become an independent woman again.

I have issue with focusing on the task at hand. I find that I can start project A, but half way through I have a thought that leads me to another project, that I shift gears to get to, and so forth and so on. I have to make deliberate action steps to get back to where I started to complete it. Everything gets finished, but it feels a lot like chaos in the process. What would you suggest I do BEFORE I start in order to start and complete each task?

Rachel just made me feel that being a stay at home dad is ok. The roles are reversed and I feel like everyone is judging me for being the one getting the kids on the bus and going to the grocery store. Thank you, Rachel, for what you just said on this podcast. It truly has changed my day and how I will live my tomorrows. My purpose is to be the best me and that will take care of my wife, my kids and everyone else that I touch. We stopped going on date nights cause we wanted to spend more family time. Date night is back on!!! Thank you Ed and Rachel for bring this message to all of us that needs it. And thank you God!

Robert, my husband is a stay at home dad, too. Ours was due to circumstances out of our control, but I think he's struggled with the same things, too. I always tell friends (I'm very focal about it) that our family has turned traditional gender roles on their ears. Our daughter is a senior this year, so we're going to be empty-nesters soon, as well. Hope you are encouraged that you are not alone. You do you! (And we're right there with you on date nights. Rachel and Dave are madly in love with each other and go on date nights WEEKLY. We could all learn a thing or two...)

This video has helped me remember who I am and what my passions were as a young child. I have been working in corporate america never feeling for filled or appreciated and also never feeling like I belong there. Even though my life has been awesome (no major problems), what struck me in this message is that many that experience traumatic things are so much stronger than I might be if I was hit with something right now. I'm in my 50s and truly grateful, but I do pray that I am strong enough to manage anything that comes my way. God brings the message you're supposed to hear. I just found Ed yesterday b/c I was watching Evan Carmichael & John Maxwell. And at the same time I am in the middle of reading her book on the recommendation of a new acquaintance. I had never heard of Rachel before that. So I had never heard of either of them a couple of weeks ago. So it's no coincidence that I'm here today watching this.

This women has changed my life. In so many ways. I pray one day that I get to met her and just tell her how thankful I am for her bravery, and boldness. As a mama of three really littles at home I had lost who I was and after reading girl wash your face 3x 😳😬 I’m finally beginning to understand that I too have value. It’s allowed me to finally step out into what sets my soul on fire! Today my biggest take away from this interview was “be better today then you were yesterday” Ed this is the first time I’ve seen you. But now I’m a die hard fan! Thank you for your love towards God, Women, and Men. Seeing your heart of faith and personal development is so amazing!!! Thank you guys for paving the way! I pray on day to be able to use all my “brokenness” to help others just like you both have! I pray god continues to use you guys in bigger and more amazing ways then you can even Fathum! ❤️

Bless you both! Thank you for such an inspiring, authentic, and intelligent conversation. I feel like I should transcribe it and use as wallpaper! For those needing more guidance to finding their way to all the truths you’ve spoken... healing from codependency, reprogramming from childhood traumas. No matter how much of a ‘pull’ I’ve found toward growth mindset, I kept getting in my own way. Finding my way out of an abusive marriage (covert narcissism)... threw me into a place where I was stuck... no matter the truths that I knew about thinking positive and loving myself... the underlying ‘stuff’ kept creeping up in self doubt. Then I was guided to a place to help me deal with the under current of my life... insecurities that keep holding me back. Understanding the tie has helped me begin to put the puzzle pieces together. Codependency... not what I thought. At its foundation, at some level we feel Dependent on things outside of us to feel value. That’s it. Opposite of that: Loving yourself, others, and knowing everyone IS enough... no conditions. You are then FREE to follow your own path and passion. We don’t resent those who don’t supports us or even vehemently oppose us. We just are no longer hampered by anyone’s opinion, because we value our own above all else. We listen to input and guidance from others (because we all have wisdom to give and receive... always keep your mind open to truth... they come in the ‘easter eggs’ of life... not where expected) given in love... but our decisions are made from our gut. We take full responsibility and accountability for all, and look for the lesson in failure... and keep going, building. Feeling that truth and putting it into action in our own lives can be another story. If you want this... but are stuck. Look for help. It’s out there and keep listening to Ed, Rachel and the many wonderful ‘lights’ out there to help us brighten our own lights. 😘

This made me cry (tears of agreement). I’m reading Rachel’s book “Girl wash your face”. I love it so much that I wanted to hear her speak so I tuned I to your interview with her. When she talked about her family, growing up in a Pentecostal home, making certain decision, having those scars and rising up like a warrior...etc etc. my heart leaps because I relate to what she is saying! I love this! She’s amazing. You’re amazing as well...love this interview!😍
