Sometime when dealing with those monster logs, it might be handy to have a stihl 881 magnum with a 60" bar and an Alaskan chainsaw mill.

You are absolutely right. It is way easier to Mill those big boys with the hydro mills. I want a 40”+ black walnut! Great video my friend.

lol on your mill those black walnuts might be too easy!

Good video Erik! It always seems odd or ironic to see a sawmill running out west with only 2 or 3 trees standing as far as the eye/camera can see. You've must have been there awhile for only a couple trees to be still standing, HaHa!

ahahaha ya got me there! Funny thing, not a quarter mile away was a bunch of hardwoods on a creek but I'm very near 'the Palouse' region which is mostly rolling hills with little to now trees except in the valley's/gully's etc. It's crazy! I can drive from desert to pine and fir covered mountains in less than two hours or spend hours driving through rolling hills with almost no trees.

It's not too bad but a little challenging at first. Once you get used to it and start to understand how it works you'll probably love it!

No, it's not worth it, don't even think about doing it, it's awful, nothing good to say about it. If you think you need a mill, just call me and I'll take on the burden of the horrible, awful work in exchange for a few hundred bucks. You're welcome 😅
