I consider myself somewhat of a tough guy.... I'm from the streets, had a crazy hard life, i did 9 yrs in prison, seen it all, done it all and ain't scared of nothing... I'm telling you that because in spite all that, when i see videos like this, i start crying like a 5 yr old girl... 😢 😏 Goes to show you that what life has done to them, we can relate, and we see it in animals that have been hurt by others and part if me wants to knock out someone that would hurt a dog or kitty like that. Animals bring out the love and compassion we've forgotten because we know they're teaching us what we definitely need to learn. What is truly considered, unconditional love.... ☺️....❤️ 😁

I think you would be great to work with animals 💜 You may have had some tough years in your life but when I read your story here I feel you have a lot of love and compassion in your heart. I think she's not as interested in the toys right now because she wants those pettin's right now. She's a love sponge right now! All those pettin's and the positive affirmations - that's what she's going to be focused on until she internalizes that she is fully loved and loveable. Once she feels fully secure, that's when she'll be much more playful. I adopted a dog like her once - he was just so needy, for a long time! Then he got really relaxed and happy.

The dog we’re caring for has PTSD-like bad dreams. Not from prior abuse or neglect of any kind but due to separation anxiety from her now divorced owners whose circumstances don’t allow either of them to keep her yet. She wakes up in great distress. By calmly saying, “It’s just a bad dream”, I’ve had some success helping her to recognize more quickly after a bad dream that she is safe.

Just want to make sure that those scabs and sores won't allow any of our bad bacteria and other things to go into her blood and get her sick. And same for us, we want to all be infection free so we can enjoy each other's company. And getting them treated so they don't become larger and compromise her skin allowing for more open wounds. Yeah some scars are okay but treating them is also good for her health.

Hi. I’m in the UK and we adopted a Belgian Shepherd who was a stray. She was very possibly the most affectionate, balanced dog we ever had. Unfortunately, she was also the most unwell her entire life. The shelter thought she was three years but turned out she was much younger. Crazily she suffered TMJ like myself. We lost her to cancer after six years and she left a huge chasm in my heart. I will never forget the day we adopted Xena. The staff brought her out to us and she reacted as though we were her people come to take her home! She hooked a paw around my husband’s leg and pressed her face into his knees. It was like saying “get me the heck out of here.” Definitely not a good place as we had no home check and she came out with kennel cough. It was just hand over your money and take her. We headed straight to the vet and got her sorted. It was the first time I’ve ever seen a dog sneeze green snot!!! Please, please, never overlook shelter dogs. They deserve all the kindness and love we can give.

I am reminded of my little girl cat; we found each other on the street. She was starved and desperate. I made an appointment with the vet for the following morning, but that night she didn't eat or drink. She wanted to. She was desperate ..and would chew a bit but couldn't swallow. Water wouldn't even go down. The following morning x rays revealed her insides were blocked by all the guck she had ingested on the street in an effort to survive. They hooked her up to an IV for nutrients and hydration and kept her for a week. She eventually was able to pass it all due to the hydration, but it took about 6 months for her insides to heal. This is something you really have to watch for in animals who have been trying to survive on the street. She is still with me after 6 years. She is a beautiful, dainty, extremely affectionate and healthy girl and a good sister to the other cat I had when she was found.

I rescued a 1 year old lab/greyhound mix who lived in a 3x3 cage the first year of her life with no attention. I had to teach her everything...literally EVERYTHING. She didn't know what a toy was and didn't know how to play either. She never learned but loved her toys. She would just carry them around and sleep with them, almost treating them like her puppies. It was very sweet. She turned out to be the most loyal, loving, and sweet dog ever. She passed away about 4 years ago from natural causes. I miss her every single day. I have her ashes and the first toy I ever gave her next to my bed. When I pass away, her ashes will be mixed with mine so we can be together forever. Love my Tallulah.

My husband and I adopted a Red tick Coonhound from a rescue group. She had been adopted and returned. Apparently they dragged her out of her crate, when they took the crate away, she hid under a table and they dragged her out from under that. They returned her because of that and not being house broken. She was scared of men, especially those over 6' with glasses. My husband is 6"4 with glasses. With a lot of patience and love he became her favorite person. She got to go on hikes, get cuddles and love, she knew she was loved and no one would hurt her ever again. I wanted to see her and adopt her because she looked so scared and shut down. We knew she needed love and patience and she is still in our hearts even though she's passed on. I have dermatitis (also an overgrowth of yeast found on everyone) and I just know getting scratched and shampooed was like heaven for her. Poor thing, it’s hard to deal with the uncomfortable sensation even as someone who can fully shampoo myself, I can’t imagine it going untreated and not being able to do anything about it. I'm not sure that she's never been shown kindness, but if not, she still believes in it. She recognizes that it is finally right: the way it should be! Maybe she belonged to an older or sick person, who died, or was taken to a nursing home, or maybe a hospital. And the owner of the house came to empty it out, and just threw her in the street. That's when her hardest times started. I wish she was mine. She's so sweet.

It's apparent, this baby girl, doggy, has never had or been shown any love. Did anybody see, when Rocky did "the scoop" that her nose and head went up in the air? Just slightly, & both of her eyes closed, as if she was feeling like, "OMG. Nobody has ever touched me like that." That poor animal. Whoever left her the condition she's in, should go to jail. Shes just precious. I heeded your advise and went to my local shelter and started sitting with the urgent dogs on their list and put it on my social media and since then, more dogs have been adopted and taken off the eu list than ever. Thank you for giving me the courge to do this and to make a difference in the lives of animals. I never know my next step i just know to go where God leads me and to rescue the hurt. 🐾❤️

Katie is so sweet, I hate that she has went through so much in her young life, she looks like she has some collie in her, I had a female when I was a lot younger, and she had 9 puppies, they are just lover's. Thank you for what you do!! Sooo many animals in shelters , rescues, and a lot has to do with puppy mills?? Sooo Bad.

Thank you Mel , for washing Lady Katie and making sure that she felt safe and like a princess. She was a new woman when she left your salon and what a beauty she was. She had a right giggle with you in the washing basin. Rocky, you always give lovely affirmations and affection to the pups. It is a gift 💝 to the pups and to those of us watching so we can give affirmations to dogs we meet, our own dogs and shelter dogs too. Would you ever consider letting your audience bid on the opportunity to name the shelter dogs? For those of us who aren’t able to have a dog would get to name them and raise money for these precious lovelies who deserve a name that is given with love. If you hate the name then the person submits another name for the pup. Holy fluff balls Rocky, good money can be raised for an amazing cause. “ What the fluff, name that pup.” Cheers!!

If i wasnt so late to this party, I'd drive all the way from Michigan just to adopt her. We already have a Dutch Shepherd mix rescue with skin problems so we're experienced in handling it. And he's a sweetie, i bet they'd get along great. That's okay, i can see she will have no shortage of people who want her. As long as she gets a good home!

My daughter and I were driving looking for a bakery when a little white dog crossed the road in front of us. I pulled over to the side of the road and when the dog approached the back door I gave him a gentle shove and pushed him into the car. We took the dog to a vet - we discovered he was covered with mats and fleas. After a bath and hair cut the dog came home with us. We named him Muffin Amis. He had found his forever home. Later we purchased a female dog we named Missy Amis. Best dogs we have ever had in our home.

What I find contradictory, is although the dog is in a bad condition she seems to have a normal weight. Someone was feeding her... I love to see the special bond you establish with those traumatised poor dogs; actually, you make miracles. God bless😊

I have 3 rescue dogs, and they were all like her 😭 I just loved on them so much that they follow me everywhere now. I know a lot of people have said they wanted her, but if any of that falls through, I would love to add her to our family. 🐾❤

This one was really heartbreaking. She didn't want treats. She didn't even know what toys are. Her genetics just have so much love to give and she just wants love. Heartbreaking, and I'm glad you are there to help her reach the life she deserves.

Some dogs don't like treats, not dog treats anyway. I give my dog small pieces of Bologna or hot dogs, or quarter sized pieces of peanut butter patties: made by spreading the peanut butter on a napkin taking all of the oil out of the peanut butter. My dog doesn't like toys either. She likes my company. She's friendly, but it takes a while to get to know her.

I adopted a broken dog. Mabel isn't broken anymore. She was also young, and s stray found dumpster diving. She doesn't need to get into garbage anymore, and she doesn't try. It's been 4 months and Mabel is still adjusting, but the biggest hurdles are over. Mabel trusts her Mommy and Daddy, and she LOVES her yard. Loves toys. She's the queen of her castle now. I'd love to have Katie too. She's beautiful.

I think she was too focused on your presence to take an interest in the treat. She lifted her little paw like she wanted more attention from you. Your back was to her so maybe you couldn't see that every time you moved she looked hopeful. And she bypassed the treat to sniff you. So sweet.
