I rescued my dog a couple months after my wife of 52 years died. My dog Lexi is 37% pittie and she is the sweetest girl and has been since the day I got her, she has saved me. I was never a full fledged "dog-person", but I sure am now. She just heard me crying as I was writing this and she immediately came into to console me, from the other side of the house, like she has done many times. God bless you for adopting your pittie.

Dexter is the definition of Pitbull. They are amazing, loving, loyal, and caring dogs. Unfortunately, bad people exploit this, for disturbing reasons, and the blame, unjustly goes to the dog.

I adopted a senior Plott Hound, background unknown, but likely a bear hunter turned out as he passed his prime, and in the shelter for months. He was estimated to be 8 years old at the time, and I bypassed him at first. As we were leaving staff walked a puppy by his area, and he jumped up and got down in play posture. The rest is history, he is now 15+, has slowed down but still a sweet boy, and laying near me waiting on me to go fix lunch.

I too love pitties. Every time I tried to adopt one, they looked at me with a cane and told me I'd never keep up with them and shouldn't tame them like that. I now take my 25 lb chihound every day to a dog park. She loves to run with other dogs, so there you go. But I am soooo partial to pitties. Thank you for being there for Dexter.

They are not bully breeds and they are not pitbulls,they is no such breeds as pitbulls,these dogs are English staffishire bull terrier,there are 5 breeds of dogs that are called pitbulls American bulldog, American staffishire, American bully,English staffishire bull terrier,I can’t think of the fifth breed,the English bred a staffy in the 18 hundreds,to fight in the pits in England,they didn’t fight so then they used them to bring the bulls down,hence the name pitbulls,but they were still staffysonce they were sent to America,the Americans bred the American staffy,the American bully,so the Americans decided to call all 5 breeds pitbull which is stupid because they all have there own breed name,so the Americans need to get it right and call these breeds by the name they come under.

Thanks for saving this guy. I think the pities r the sweetest breed ever. I adopted one several years back who had been in an outdoor run for eight years at a rescue. Me and him both were getting up there in years and all he wanted to do was go for car rides all the time. We’d also go get frozen yogurt of his favorite things to do. Unfortunately, I only had him for a year and a half, because he came down with a rare disease and died shortly thereafter. I hope I gave him at least a year & a half of love & happiness. I wish more people would adopt this breed.
