@@howey935 I agree...but she only has integrity because of the existence of the body camera. Were it not for the camera, he would have gone on his merry way, crashed into a school bus, killed 8 kids and the school bus driver would have been charged with multiple felonies because the drunk driving cop would have claimed that he or she "pulled out in front of him." In fact, he probably would have gotten some kind of "Brave Hero Cop Service Award" for saving the lives of the other kids on the school bus when he hit the bus because "he was able to maneuver his car in such a way as to cause the least amount of damage and save lives. The bravery and service he showed that day were above and beyond the call of duty." Yeah, but you say it as if cops are the only ones that abuse their power. If I were a cop and I pulled over someone close to me I would not arrest them unless I knew it would come back. thats just how we are are humans, Im glad we are able to better hold people accountable today but lets be honest, if you pulled over your own kid for DUI no cop ever would arrest their own kid. Not saying i think its okay, just want to make people have some perspective and realize they would not be 100% transparent even though they demand that cops be that way.
@ReadyFreddy10115 жыл бұрын
slayNprey well I’m glad you’re not a cop, we need people who are going to enforce the law it’s not the law how you wish to interpret it that’s the problem right there
@slaynprey5 жыл бұрын
@@ReadyFreddy1011 I agree to the extent that I think you missed my point, Im just tired of hearing all of these people bitch and complain about one of the most emotionally draining jobs in the world and expect humans to be perfect, I think they should have some perspective and realize we have it pretty damn good, is it perfect? No. But we all give people breaks all the time and it would be incredibly difficult for anyone to break those habits since it is so engrained in human biology. We want to help people and not put people down who we feel close to or feel they're having a really rough time. It makes us feel better and feel like we are helping that person.I was pulled over for running a red light(barely) and the officer happened to be my brothers neighbor, and he didn't give me a ticket, do you think he should be arrested or reprimanded because he doesn't want to create problems for himself? Do you have any fucking clue how pissed your family would be at you if you arrested your own brother even though he was right at a .08 and was pulled over for a broken tail light.(I'm not talking about actually dui, where you're pulled over for erratic/reckless driving) No, you're going to give them the benefit of the doubt. There are lots of gray areas, and DUI is one of them imo, thats why the laws differentiate so so much between states, some states it is just an infraction and not a jailable offense unless there way over the limit. This guy deserved a DUI for sure but many many people who get DUIs now are not driving reckless but are simply being honest and get pulled over for something as simple as window tint. Remember, all laws have to be created with our lowest common denominators in mind, so there are a lot of people that suck at driving and there are a lot of people who could literally be at a .15 and still drive better and safer than those shitty drivers. Ive called a dui on someone before who i discovered was just distracted, and thats a 100$ ticket but kills way more people than DUIs every day.
@ReadyFreddy10115 жыл бұрын
slayNprey I understand your position but if I was cop idc if you’re my brother or whatever, and I catch you breaking the law, I’m locking that ass up. Simple as that, you can just be mad. Police need to be trusted by the community that they’re going to properly enforce the law, and not show favoritism, discrimination, etc. yeah I agree it’s a tough job, but they’re are hundreds of tough jobs that people endure, so all that other stuff is just a load of excuses. Enforce the law or be enforced by the law, because guess what those who don’t they all get caught in the end.

Where I live if the keys are in the car, you’re an “operator” so you can turn on the car, get some heat, pass out in a parking lot having never drove and STILL get a DUI. MADD has a lot of power in my area though...but the state defines personal responsibility now, and that means taking a cab or Uber or Lyft, especially since you can get charged for public intoxication if you try to walk home.
