One thing to note, Ammunition for those Gepard systems is very limited, it was out of production, but the German company pulled off a run of 300K. but at this rate over the whole of Ukraine 300K will not last long.

Did it seem to me alone that сounteraction is more dangerous than the action itself? Each projectile will land somewhere... They also shoot from the port towards the city. The damaged drone will fall on the living area. Well, then they will show a video with the title - "Russians kill civilians intentionally!" ...and not a word that they did it by shooting down a drone flying at some military target. I am not a military expert, but elementary logic suggests that air defense should be between enemy and the protected city at such a distance that the affected objects do not fall on the city along a ballistic curve. But they use the city as a shield..

A good air defense ammo should have a time fuse that activate after reaching certain duration. This is to make sure the ammo explode mid air and doesn't fall down. I don't know if Gepard 35mm have time fuse or not, but it should have. It would be stupid if not.

@@donflamingo795 Let's say there are such detonators and they are 100% reliable. But then thousands of their fragments of different sizes and at high speed rain down on the city... So the authorities in Kyiv definitely don't care about the city's population.

@@southautomatic2239 nah, the fragments would lose all their kinetic energy and fall to the ground purely from gravity energy. each fragments are really small and weight in milligrams. So, they wont cause damage. Of course, that is assuming the fuse works 100% of the time. Because if it doesn't work, then the full explosive 35mm round will land at random place. Btw, pretty much all air defense missiles have time fuse for this exact reason. If a AA missile missed its target, it would simply explode mid air without hitting random target. With gun system however, not all of them have time fuse in their ammunition. But big caliber like 30mm, 35mm usually have time fuse. It's a safety feature that people have thought of since very long time ago.

@@donflamingo795 This is if the self-destruction worked, if it worked at a high altitude. But what if it didn't work? What if it worked at a low altitude? And so the air defense missiles, despite the self-destruction device, regularly fly into residential buildings that they were supposed to protect. The installation of any weapons, including air defense systems, in the center of a city is definitely a war crime, and against its own population.

They are tracer rounds from air defense system and as you can see Ukrainian missile air defense doesn't seem to be active meaning they must be close to being depleted of air defense missiles..

In German and, I think, in Russian a 'hard G' is used. So Gepard (Leopard) and Geran (Geranium) are pronounced wrongly in this otherwise good quality video.

Gepard isn't a SAM though (Surface to Air Missile), it's a SPAAG, a Self Propelled Anti Aircraft Gun. Also, later GERAN-2 drones feature a video camera.
