2 magpie brothers adopted me not long ago, quite brave aren’t they !

Magpie's are such patient parents. "My" magpie family have just one new pie too, they deserve a holiday. Thanks for sharing
@SteveMackАй бұрын
They sure do! (Although; I AM highly suspect of 'Dad-Pie', as with the previous baby - he kept attacking it (it never shut up)...I'd like to THINK that HE wasn't responsible for it's disappearance). PS: I love your username!

It’s wonderful to see NewNewPie! Mum and Dad are such amazing parents, and it’s clear that you’re now an essential part of their family too. Thanks for sharing mate. 👍

Not sure, but I feel honoured to be seen as someone they can share space with, without fear. 👍❤️

Both my cats came running over to the phone (which is why they are indoors beasts), hoping our Maggies come by again this year, I normally give them a bit of raw mince.
@SteveMackАй бұрын
Hahaha...mince to the cats, Magpies, or both?😁🤣😉👍

They’ll all line up for it, but then the dogs sit back looking betrayed!

Recently I saw a video of a wildlife rescuer of crows. Said they have intelligence of 3yo with pliers on their face 😂 Iv been feeding seeds and peanuts a lot but no time to interact. I think they recognize my elcamino around town so I put peanuts in the bed. People are telling me they are going to my car but I’m inside working!! Something loves me 😿 Birds are the best
@SteveMackАй бұрын
hahaha - 'pliers'; YEP - That pretty well describes it! Oh yes; they (and Magpies, to name but a few) DO recognise objects AND people! I saw something recently that said (I'm never sure HOW they come up with such accurate numbers though!) - Magpies can remember up to (was either 300 or 500) different people, and can remember them for (I think they said 8 years)...Like many 'facts'; unless someone IS or used to BE a Magpie (in this case): HOW would they really KNOW!? BUT: Definitely they DO recognise people and other animals, that they see on a regular basis, and it seems extremely likely that they ALSO remember how interractions go with said people. Birds are very awesome! 👌🙂👍

Love watching you hand feeding the birds. I can only dream of that with our species. Have you ever been able to gain their trust enough to pet them? 🤔 Being a cat guy, I'm all about affectionate interaction. 🥰
@SteveMackАй бұрын
Not actually _pat_ them, but I have TOUCHED them all (not the newest 'kid' yet), albeit very briefly, and to their surprise...unless you count beak contact with my fingers as they take food - in which case Many many times! 😉🙂👌
