Sold all.my SKXs too, did not have much trouble with the crown, but they looked a bit drab. This 5KX looks like an SKX witha blue Mako dial. And I ordered one with my high school's logo on the dial, so it should be good. Like the oyster bracelet, lug holes and the fact that I do not have to bother with the screwdown crown.

I bought the pepsi too, it's not left my wrist since I got it 2 weeks now. It keeps very good tme + 10 secs a day, the bezel lines up and the bracelet is comfortable no issues at all, yes the clasp could have been made out of better quality materials but then it wouldn't have been a tad over £200. All in all a great daily timepiece.

I love these watches right the bracelets are not the best but there functional, I have the solid boy version without the bezel srpe53k1 blue sunburst dial and l love it and it's a very accurate reliable movement and it's a great all rounder great vid

I actually just bought this last week. Edit: bit of an update here, I noticed one major issue with mine, and that is the bezel keeps getting bumped up and Very difficult to turn. After emerging in water for a few seconds, or rinsing it out and usually works fine for at least a day before I have to do it again. Not a dealbreaker but if you actually want to use the basil it is a pain in the butt. Update: mine got magnetized and was ultimately lost in a move. Planning on replacing it soon.

SRPD51 = Japan Movement, SRPD51K1 = Malaysia Movement, Not sure about SRPDK but it has to do with factory, maybe China. If you are Seiko snob try to find SBSA001 = Made In Japan model.

I have the green one with the gold hands and indices , the bezel is the same , a little play but lines up. The lume is very good. I never had a skx , but , this caught my interest from the first pictures I saw of them. It's a good , nice looking watch , yet people hate it because it isn't the SKX , I have a Seiko orange baby monster from the Seiko 5 line and that doesn't seem to get any hate 🤷 people are weird in this hobby 😂

Can get it for 150e second hand, but its 42.5mm and my wrist is for 40mm max. But the lug to lug is 46 instead 47, so that can compensate for the case size maybe :/

I own a couple of these, the 5 'Pepsi' and the Blueberry GMT, and love both except the design of the crownguards which does make winding a pain in the arse. The Sapphire crystal SHOULD be standard at this sort of price point too, but I generally have other watches which I'd wear in situations where scratches are likely.

Japan Movement. K1 = Malaysia movement. SBSA001 is "Made in Japan". I believe the one in this video is actually SRPD51...not K1 because it has Japan Movement.

Is it normal for it to have glass that does not fill the dial and you can see the indices under the dial if you turn the watch to the side where there is a gap between the galss and the watch face itself underneath.

Actually I believe your watch is SRPD51....not K1 version. The K1 version does not have "Movt Japan" on the dial. I believe the movement is made in Malaysia. So your watch is actually better. The SBSA001 is the "Made in Japan" version which is stated on the Dial. The normal SRPD51 only has movement Japan.

The problem with no lum on the bezel is that one cannot see elapsed time in the dark...so why have the bezel? The dive extension is needed as a DIVE watch to go over a wet suit, but this isn't REALLY a dive watch. It's a fashion "dive" watch. The reason the band does NOT pull hair is because of the deliberate gaps in the segment; a design feature.

99% of people who wear dive watches use their bezels to time food in the oven. This is a fun watch that will attract a younger generation to the hobby, who'll then mature into wanting a "proper diver". It's a breath of fresh air

For all it's faults, no hand wind and no hacking, the SKX was at least an ISO certified diver so you got guaranteed quality in a relatively cheap dive watch . I bought 2 at around 200 each but now they are selling at 500 that's just BS they are good but they aren't 500 good

Yikes. You can get a King Turtle for that much, which has a better movement, sapphire crystal, drilled lugs, better bezel action, and a ceramic bezel insert.

I don't know where you're getting your previous SKX's with their poor quality,but the 5 you have in your hand has misaligned bezel ,poor polishing,a push pull crown, a low quality bracket.Have you ever tried addressing Seiko with your previous complaints on the 007's? I
