Alex I have a question... Some artisanal watch makers do not provide hacking as it involves jamming the balance wheel to stop the seconds (as shared by FP Journe on why they don't do stop-seconds). If we did the trick of manually stopping the seconds by turning the time backwards, does it damage the movements?

No, absolutely not! If this would be the case the Calibre 1151 would already be with a stop-seconds functions…

Amazing whatches ! I prefer the limited édition because of the size (my taste) an also because of the "no rad" dial . These whatch thanks of famous *nageurs" from Marine Nationale have a rich History. I apreciate the bigger one too and we must admit that this mechanism with this "réserve de marche" is insane. Very beautiful vidéo. Impatient to whatch the next one ! Good weekend, Alexander.

Great review Alexander of a great watch. I tried to snag one at the end of April but my AD here that I prefer only had one and it was already spoken for, very much like Rolex like. These special editions go only to the best customers. Not bitter just saying it like it is. It's the way I was able to get my New Submariner last Christmas. But I did join the Blancpain family I got myself a early birthday present on a Blue ceramic Bathyscaphe that I'm thrilled with and probably suits my overall taste being very paired down and lighter on my slender 16cm wrist. Question I have heard that the coating on the rotor is in fact a platinum alloy true or false. Also is there a tropical strap variant for the Bathyscaphe. Again great detailed review. Oh by the way the peli box is not only tough and robust it is also water proof and should you watvh be in it and it falls off the dive boat it floats.

I don't get it I hate any watch company including Blancpain, as well as Bulova with their Mil-Ships Limited Edition.. Good grief just make the watches where people can but them. At least Spinnaker limited editions they will come back a few months later and open it up for anyone to buy ones that are not numbered. I could care less about a limited edition with a number. So with that, since I couldn't purchase a blancpain plus the price being $$$$ I found a Octopus Kracken with the PT5000 movement that looks exactly like this one. So I am happy lol.

I like Blancpain but they are so stubborn. Even an ingenu watchmaker knows that the majority of the public want 39-41mm watches and yet they insist, like a grumpy old uncle, on doing things ‘their way’. Come on Blancpain, listen to the noises and make almost all your watches 39-41mm and reserve 45mm for the limited editions.

A 40mm 50F is a great looking watch but I'm no fan of the 'No Rad' (or previous LE roundels). One for the collectors. As others have said: PLEASE, BLANCPAIN - MAKE A PRODUCTION 40MM 50 FATHOMS!!! 45mm makes little sense for a high horology pro diver. I'll wear my Tuna! At 40mm it becomes wearable everyday and would make it into my watchbox! Just make both sizes and see which sells most. 45mm for E Europe and S America, 40mm for rest of world! The design I'd use is the Nageurs de Combat.
