Believe that is a different song. Everything I find says Van wrote this song "Have I Told You Lately." The song you're referencing, apparently written by someone named Scotty Wiseman had a different title: "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You"

Very good song, but I like the best of his '70s music even more. I suggest "Wild Night" for your next Van song, with "And It Stoned Me" as my 2nd choice.
