Underrated video because it was super in depth for both watches. Loved it. It was like appetizer with the Breitling and the main course and dessert with the JLC. JLC would win against most watches here so it really wasn't fair. You would need to get RM or the best APs to compete against that JLC.

Breitling takes more chances with the engineering of materials within the movement. The only similar application at the moment is Panerai's ID LAB, so in practice the PAM 700 would be the fair comparison to to the Breitling. This JLC is highly complex, but it doesn't push the limits of materials. Arguably, doing what Breitling did with the unlubricated silicon train in ceramic pivots goes several steps beyond what JLC did. And that's coming from a hardcore JLC fan who has considered purchasing this exact Extreme Lab 2 model. Best, Tim

It a good point tim, but today ceramic pivots and components aren't that groundbreaking as watch brands try to present them. The dentist i share my MD studio with has drills that run ceramic bearings, pivots and drills, and those turn up to 80.000rpm. I guess engeneering a watch may be a more minute work but also way easier from a materials stress pov.

Shocked the Extreme Lab 2 was never owned by Tim during the height of his JLC collection. This watch has a zany streak that I would think appeals to him.

The Chronoworks is very innovative for a Breitling, but even then it still doesn't hold a candle to the Extreme Lab.
