Amazing that it took Tim almost the same amount of time to review that watch and at some point during both review, Tim even described the same spec. at nearly the same time during the review.... Amazing. Now this Zenith Chronomaster El PrimeroGreat is in my list. Great consistency Tim. Another great show. Thank you and have a nice weekend. Cheers.

Hi Tim, Awesome show as always! Funny that you’re bringing up the Dark Rhodium Yacht-Master this week, I was hesitating last week between the SeaQ and the Sub, and eventually went for the Yacht-master as it combines the best of both worlds IMO: the fit of the SeaQ 39,5, the dial richness of the SeaQ 43, and the timeless design of the Sub while being more original.
@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын
I think you made the right choice, Gregory. The fit of the Rolex is far superior on most wrists, and the mechanical specification is a bit more refined than SeaQ 39.5. I'd also give the Rolex a narrow edge in bracelet quality. Best, Tim

Tim, do you think that the Zenith El Primero Chronomaster 2 will ever be available in a 38mm case?

Great show once again, Tim. I've heard you mention your skepticism of FP Journe before, but I have never heard you explain why. Could you explain why?
@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын
1) I'm not in love with the guy, and buying an independent watch often means embracing the responsible watchmaker 2) All of the cases -- Linesport excepted -- are identical. This seems lazy 3) The finish is good but not great. FP Journe often gets mentioned alongside Patek and Lange or Journe's AHCI peers like Kari and Philippe, but the reality is that Journe movements are finished to a level more akin to AP's mass-produced models, JLC, or Moser. While the use of exotic rose gold cloaks this shortcoming somewhat, the actual finish on those 18K bridges and plates is achieved mostly by mechanical means. Best, Tim
@alexgichamba87444 жыл бұрын
@@the1916companywatchreviews Thanks for clearing that up, those are valid points. Yes, apart from the Linesport and Elegante/Vagabondage cases, the rest are identical. Still, I am a fan of the innovation by the brand, and when I am ready to purchase one, I will come by knocking on Watchbox's door. I hope to see a watch from Gronefeld on the show one day, their finishing and python straps are breathtaking. Thank you.
@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын

The ceramic JLC intrigues me is the ceramic case solid ceramic or is it steel with a ceramic coating ? Wouldn't an all ceramic case be very fragile ? Todays show is great ! as always .
@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын
This one is a full-ceramic case. JLC did make a few "cermet" cases in the Master Compressor series, and those are ceramized coatings over aluminum. As for fragility, I always tell potential buyers to be honest about whether they routinely chip or shatter sapphire crystals. Some do, but most don't. If you don't then ceramic is a great solution for you. Best, Tim
@davidjb36714 жыл бұрын
Is there particular reason the 24 hr window on the Laurent Ferrier is extra tall, displaying half each of the preceeding and succeeding numerals, which may also be in different font sizes? Looks quite strange and upsets the symmetry of the dial 🤔 Otherwise a very nice piece though.

@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын
I wonder this myself - and the 70s/80s Day Dates were even more adventurous. Now, one might say the current meteorite GMT, Deepsea D-Blue, Milgauss Z-Blue, and Air-King keep the tradition alive, but even these -- possibly excepting the Z-Blue -- don't feel quite as bold as the little Oyster on today's show.
