I discovered Ball less than a year ago. I purchased an Aviator Dual-Time, and being thoroughly impressed with it, I now own 6 different Ball watches, and I'm still looking for more. You get a lot of substance for your money with this brand! I'm a nighttime helicopter pilot, and I find tritium to be much better than luminescence, which seems to fade substantially in just a matter of minutes.

thumperjdm Hello there. May I ask how about the accuracy of your Ball watches? I really would like to buy one of the modells and of corse i,'m not looking atomic time measuring or 262kHz quartz precision but I'm deffinitely curious about the Ball's accuracy in real as I know it was very much important to the company of its own history as well. Thanks 😊

Don’t worry you could sell them and maybe be able to afford a down payment on a Rolex

Am I the only one who thinks watches with internal rotating bezels are really interesting?

Not at all mate! I love them too! I find them more elegant, cooler, and they are not as easily damaged!

Yes it's so cool, especially when it clicks on rotate like in this ball. So satisfying.

It's a really nice watch for sure, and great value I think. I've never owned a Ball, but am always looking for my first. I'm glad you called out the bracelet. It's the first thing I really noticed at the start of the vid. Beautifully substantial and non tapering, which is a big plus for me.

This is a detail where a great number of high-value watches fall on their face. I'd go so far as to say the bracelet often tells on brands that cross the line from "value" to "cost cutting." Ball's Engineer Master II bracelet punches way above it's weight considering the price range. It's on par with some of Omega's best from the SMP families, and that's really saying something. Best, tim

I've been impressed by the quality of the cases, dials, and bracelets on Ball watches. I've met a number of very sophisticated collectors who can pretty much buy whatever they want but kept coming back to Ball for the value it offers. Best, Tim

Would you recommend this particular model ?
@pavliv Жыл бұрын
@@martinvillanueva2071 Well, you should buy what you like, but i think this model is the best looking watch ever. I weak ir for a year and enjoy it every day like the first day. There so much depth to the dial, and the minutes hand is so cool. And the quality, the finishing, is just incredible. I think you can find this model for around 1-1.5k, and it definately worth more then that.

Can you tell me if the rotating bezel knob locks or screws down after you make adjustment to the bezel or it always free to turn... or be knocked out of place is what I am getting at here? Thank you!

Why do you not show the watch just keep showing the left side and the band
@Spiederia8 жыл бұрын
I've been a watch enthusiast/ collector for years. I don't know a single person that wears or would wear a Ball watch. To me, their claim to fame of using gas tubes puts the watch and company somewhere in horological outer-space. I guess it's sort of like Subaru owners...they are different people from the "normal" car enthusiast.

Even after Standard Time was adopted in 1883, most trains continued to run on nonstandard local time - and quite a few trains ran into each other. A PBS-produced documentary, On the Ball: The Story of Webb C. Ball and the Railroad Watch, tells the story of Ball - an enterprising Cleveland jeweler - who saved countless lives by getting the railroads to run on time. In 1891, after an especially tragic train collision in Kipton, Ohio, crash investigators realized the urgent need to improve railroad watch accuracy. Soon after the Kipton accident, Ball, a quintessential Cleveland entrepreneur, was literally at the right place (his Downtown Cleveland repair shop) at the right time (when members of Congress walked by). Already the first jeweler to bring accurate time to Cleveland, Ball took hold of the opportunity and began working with the government and the railroads to bring accurate, synchronized timekeeping to railroads throughout North America. Ball coined the advertising slogan "Get on the Ball" to encourage adoption of his standard railroad watches and clocks and his universal standard time system to keep them all accurately synchronized. Through interviews with watch and railroad experts and enthusiasts, as well as historical documents and photos, this new documentary travels back in time to chronicle the moments and the man that made it possible to "synchronize our watches." This event is also credited with the leading to the expression, "Get on the ball," and "The saying "he or she is on the Ball" an allusion to timekeeper Webb C. Ball's efforts in instituting a reliable timekeeping system. The history of Ball watches on PBS www.pbs.org/video/2365317889/
