6r24 is built on the 6r base but very different from common 6r15 and 6r35. It was originally featured in the Ananta series as a bridge movement between Seiko and Grand Seiko. 28.8 balance and many more jewels and parts are used to make this not just another 6r. I had its black dial Urushi LE cousin SPB085 and can confirm the Urushi dials are spectacular.

Is the day pointer misaligned because it's after 9PM and changing over or is it just like that? On your closeups it's literally in between W and T. Really interested in one of these but I'm concerned the day/date pointers wont align well, especially given Seiko's reputation for that sort of thing...

I'm not a Seiko fan but I have to hand it to them, they offer some of the best dials and specifically specialty/ craft art dials (urushi, porcelain, enamel, guilloched enamel) at very affordable prices.

Great looking dial but viewers might be interested in the Urushi black SARX029 for one third if the price. Best of all it doesn't have all the subdials and is a thinner, dressier version.

can’t agree more ! This one at 13mm thick stands out like a sore thumb and easy to bang into doors and corners . Seiko shortchanged customers by putting a calf leather strap … white enamel dial Seikos with same 6 series movements come with a smart alligator band . Why would Seiko do this !!? I can’t find an answer

If you think you can get a well finished watch with a handmade lacquer dial for that price, you are dreaming. The Seiko watches with these dials are steals.

I bought a green automatic but it was their cheap one. Not only dose it keep great time, I had it in salt water all day not a problem years later. And it has a glass back. I only wish I paid extra for a real crystal instead of glass.

Nice watch. But, 2000 pieces is not a limited edition. This is a stupid marketing trick by the big manufacturers. The limited edition is from 3 to 100 pieces, maximum.

Nice watch from Seiko. Watch brands should stop putting so many texts on the dial. For this one, no need to say presage and automatic. It already has a see through case back so why cluttering the dial with automatic. For the presage line up, the crown shape is a signature of the presage model so again no need to say presage on the dial. Watch desiners need to get rid of the marketing and sales advertisement on the dial especially when the watch is on the dressy side.

I agree, especially on a dress watch. Dress watches are intentionally made to be minimalist in every category; why try to cram text in there like it’s a chronograph?

every unnecessary letter-and word on the dial makes the watch look uglier ! Look at this statement in converse ! some of the classiest Pateks and similar holy grail watches are so minimalist that the dial screams elegance ! Seiko has to learn a lot in this direction !!
