One of my favourite divers. I have a Seiko & a San Martin. Not sure about that handset with that dial, but other than the slightly odd lume triangle on that beautiful steel bezel insert I think it's a lot of watch for peanuts. You said about the NATO strap in the Tuna case, it's possible with some NATO straps, I used to wear mine on a green seat belt NATO, I used to put the strin position and then put the spring bar in, single layer under the watch.

I bought an Addiesdive Tuna "Hulk" recently for £44 GBP (incl. Taxes & Shipping). It has Day rather than Day and Date complications but apart from that ticks all the same boxes. An absolute bargain and I love wearing it!

I managed to pick mine up in the cyber Monday sale for £41 and its amazing for the price, it looks easily as well made and finished as this one, but at a fraction of the price.

Very nice watch Steve. I have an original Tuna and bought the yellow Steeldive version on a yellow rubber strap, an awesome summer watch. Coincidentally the chapter ring is slightly off in exactly the same direction as this one. The steel bezels are always a bit noisy, on my Heimdallr Monster, it sounds the same as this one too. Excellent review and I think this is definitely a great option for anyone wanting a Tuna. The watch isn't as big as it sounds and my wife tried it on with her 5.2" wrist and it looked ok. So anyone with slimmer wrists can definitely wear this too. Just one small thing. The watch has an NH36, not NH35. My Steeldive does have the date only NH35.

I'm currently modifying a Tuna homage with the NH34 THE majority of the parts have arrived Steeldive base is where it all started Love one of a kind custom time piece I'll let you know how it works out So far so good Very excited with this build Thanks for sharing another killer review my friend 👍

For comparison Invicta Sea Hunter is 310 grams on rubber strap. This tuna is only 185 grams
@EscapeWheel Жыл бұрын
To be fair, that Invicta is why Invicta has such a bad reputation...58mm who the Eff wears those things?

It looks like a steel dive rebrand. San martin bronze version is actually surprisingly cheap now. That rubber band is extremely well made
@EscapeWheel Жыл бұрын
that Bronze SM has been on sale for a long time..hoping to clear out some stock I guess. agreed on this being a rebranded steeldive. not sure they sell this particular setup though (steel bezel, glossy dial, BGW9) but they have so many watches, it's hard to keep up with

The black rubber strap just really makes this watch pop. The metal band looks great but the black rubber strap just looks awesome. Impressive review. Does the sleeve around the bezel serve a particular function?

I believe it's a protective measure. You can bang up the shroud and not mess with the actual watch itself....then later down the road, replace the shround Nd the watch will be good as new. That's my best guess, at least

Hi Steve.. great review, thx! Just wondering if you saw the new Watchdives / San Martin collaborative T**** Pelagos homage. Would love to see a review on that.

Nice review 👍🏼 I have the Steeldive tuna. Very similar. Just yesterday I replaced the bezel insert for a stainless steel one. I like it more this way. Still thinking about replacing the dial and chapter ring... I wear mine on a shark mesh mostly but it's quite a strap monster.
@EscapeWheel Жыл бұрын
thanks. shark mesh sounds like it would be cool on this one.

Nice review Steve! The watch is a nice find, I quite like it. This inky black colour suits this watch very well. I also like the Watch Dives logo. OK, it's a little Tag Heuer inspired. But it's looks better than most Chinese brands' logo. In this case the hot water trick should work to fix the bezel alignment. The second hand could be a little longer. Edit: I noticed the logo is upside down on the clasp. Why? 😂
@EscapeWheel Жыл бұрын
yeah, not sure why it's like that on the clasp. my other WD watches are correct

Save up for the real deal. This may look good at a glance - but somewhere must be the reason behind the low price. I don't think it keeps well.
@XjohnjohnX88 Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's huge. But it's clearly an attractive watch! I agree with you about the bracelet, a rubber strap would have been a better choice. This play between the end links and the lugs🤦♂️ Again a great and complete review 👌

I'd buy the steeldive monoblock 1000 meter at that price over, or I'd buy buy a cheaper steel/addiesdive watch at that price less. Time it takes to get to me, doesn't change that fact. I will never own that watch. Thanks Steve for the great review. It is a useless watch. I'm Canadian so I don't get import fees from China. I do if I buy that watch, I get taxed It's not worthy for me. Great watch tho. Its prices are too much for me. 200 meter watch compared to a big 1000 meter hockey puck is better.

These are nice watches but all these homage, copies and other “Similar” like watches are all way over priced. Anyone that has been to Chinatown (NY) knows what I mean. You can get an amazing ROLEX copy (says Rolex etc) for about $10. The Chinese have simply mastered the art of making these types of watched. They’ve also shown us how cheap they are to make. The most important part of a watch is the movement and that’s why most of these types of watches use Japanese movements. I’m not saying they aren’t good, I’m simply saying that for the money you would be better served investing in an actual Seiko or Citizen. It’s personal preference obviously. Invicta is responsible for the cheap watch popularity. These types of companies spend almost as much money on their presentation packaging as they do the watches themselves. No question about it, they look great. They offer Zero respect from watch snobs and will always be lumped into the Invicta group. In all honesty? I use to buy these types of watches until I actually saved up and purchased myself the Super Titanium Citizen “Kracken”and the difference is night and day. I never even think about wearing my Addhesive, Invicta’s or other off brands anymore. Great video. Insanely informative.

Appreciate the view, compliments, and the opinions. It's a talking point for sure. Can't say these are overpriced...I've felt Seiko and citizens and swiss watches in the $200-$600 range and these hold up well considering their $75 price points. Sure, there's no "soul" to these homages, but they make amazing daily pieces for not a whole lot.
