My Hamilton Intramatic Automatic panda dial is never leaving my collection but then again I understand that the watch is chunkier but my wrist is also larger than yours so It doesn’t bother me. That matcha dial is a piece of art.

@@abhisutrave3437Yes, it should. I have a 6,7 Inch (17+ cm) and its my sweet spot. I would usually recommend 42 mm watches for 7 inch wrists and over, but the watch is thick and heavy so I think it would suit your wrist very well. If you take a lighter colored dial then visually It will seem even bigger. If you can try the watch on that would be the best option before pulling the trigger.

Can’t wait till this trend dies down. The Hamilton looked wobbly but that’s probably due to the stiffness of the strap. That Bulova fit him perfectly! You want the dial to cover your wrist and the Lunar’s lugs are very short and accommodating. I have 7” wrist but when did 6.5” wrist become “puny”?

I gave my Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic to my dad because I felt like it was just a little too big for my 7” wrist. Had I known and bought one in-store I would have probably went with the 38mm instead of the 42mm. It seems like field watches generally have longer lugs, I can wear a 42mm diver and it wears beautifully on my wrist.

I get the feeling with the presage, all those dials are amazing, but I just didn't have a lot of occasions to actually wear them. The domed mineral crystal will (and already did) scratch with the kids and I just myself wearing other more versatile watches instead most of the time.

I also love a vintage inspired chronograph and have been thinking about the green dial Intramatic. I can't try one locally and I'm worried about the thickness. I also sold a Seiko presage with a gorgeous brown sunburst dial. It looked great but I sold it as I rarely picked it out of my watch box.

Back when I was a collector after wearing it only twice I regretted buying an invicta bolt. That thing was so huge bulky and yep you guessed it uncomfortable. The only reason I bought it because I got a good deal. Alas I fell into a fools paradise with the mark up msrp. Glad I’m a one watch collector now.

I once went to Jared and took a look at a limited edition Bulova Lunar Pilot with a dial made out of asteroid. I loved it but my 6 in wrist was too small for it :( I was actually debating with my self if I should buy a $500 watch for $1500 because of the dial and engraving lol

No matter how great the watch is , size is a big factor, I can wear 40 to 42 mm watch if it's a very small slim dress watch and its kind of too small but 44 to 46 millimeter watches on the sporty side is about perfect

Kemo Sabe, I also own the Lunar Pilot and the 40mm Panda Hamilton. I love both of them. My wrists are also slim, but because I am supremely confident, have a large … personality, and am extremely humble and good looking, the watches look fantastic on me. All my watches have a personal story tied to them, so I’m not letting these two, or my others go. That Seiko is beautiful. How much are you selling it for?

I tried it but it really only works with black, brown, or green straps (or metal). Green is just not one of my favorite colors and I always reach for my silver Presage instead

The hamilton intramatic chronograph has a shit valjoux movement that makes noise and will break at the slightest drop or light bump. Also the case has several defects like the crown becoming impossible to screw down after a while, requiring repair. Good design but very cheap build quality and movement.

Sigh...yes, *all* those watches are positively wonderful...but, with the possible exception of the Presage, I could never wear them for the same reason as you...and I have a 7" wrist. With a very few exceptions - my Seiko 003 GMT, for example - I'm sticking with 40mm and under. And while I *do* believe in the notion that how you feel about the watch trumps what others think in terms of size, size does matter in terms of how the thing feels on your wrist, and if it doesn't feel right, it just isn't worn.

All watches you buy as a cope and shamefully sell for 50% off on FB marketplace later when you cant afford the more expensive versions...like an Omega speedmaster. Been there, done that myself. Expensive learning lesson - just save up for the one you want instead of settling.

I just picked up a Seiko SRPG39 and on my 6.25 inch wrist, I get all over-analyzing and worry that it’s too big. At 39.4 mm, it should be fine, but I fall down the rabbit hole and nitpick every single millimetre. (LOL)

I love that boluva lunar watch and when i went on its website to order it I saw the lug to lug size and said NAH. definatly way too big to wear comfortabily on wrist. with the seiko I have to say im not fan of green dials in generals. and yours has not only green dial but green straps too. big no for me. the hamilon looks good but again too big.

I disagree. For me these are 3 super watch, Seiko a beautiful limited with a stunning dial, Lunar Pilot historic watch with one of the best quartz out there, and Hamilton is a very nice piece (I prefer the panda dial)

The move from 37mm and less form factor to the current 40mm and greater dinnee plates is ridiculous. Of course so is calling a 42mm panda watch vintage, a vintage panda would be small, say 25mm. If you want a new reasonably sized watch, try to find a ladies watch with as few rhinestones as possible. The Seiko ladies watches tend to be 36mm form factors. When Rolex first introduced the 37mm form factor, everyone said how large chunky and macho it was and now it would be considered a unisex size. We'll have to wait a few years for Hollywood stars to stop wearing such ridiculous plates for watches and for fashion preferences to change but Seiko switching their mens watch from the 37mm case to the 40mm case isn't a good sign. I would say buy watches from the 80's and 90's and have them overhauled. We need more experienced watchmaker/horologists anyways as the old guard are retiring.

Bulova does themselves no favors by producing watches that are so large. I have looked at so many Bulova watches who have great dial designs for the price point, but then when I see their case sizes, they are cartoonishly large. If they were to get those great case and dial aesthetics into a 38 mm to 40 mm case diameter, while keeping their case thicknesses below 13mm, and keeping their lug to lug reasonable they would definitely be more prominent in the world of horology. Looking at missed opportunities that plague Bulova as a result of their case sizes is akin to when I see a car with a beautifully designed interior and exquisitely engineered motor, but which happens to be cursed with an atrocious outer body. Its just sad.

the hamilton just has a terrible case shape and styling. It has no finesse what so ever. It's just a circlue tube cube for the case with straight legs. It looks terrible on your wrist as it has massive air gaps under the lugs, even the 40mm has air gaps. A good watch should wrap around your wrist air tight, without any air gaps.
