I'm SO impressed with the writing, directing, and acting in this show. I mean, I had complete confidence that it would be fantastic, but it's no small feat to introduce characters, humanize them completely, make a jaded audience love them, and then break out the emotional shivs while managing to avoid being too cliché or overdone. The infected are mostly practical effects touched up with CGI. The bloater is a 6'6" stunt actor in an 80lb suit and the kid clicker is a 9-year-old gymnast.

It’s actually the bloater that’s CGI, almost every other infected is an actor with a CGI avatar on them.

I really liked the change of making Sam deaf, especially because when Ellie wakes up the next morning and sees him faced away from her...he probably did that because he thought she'd have a chance to escape after he turned. He wouldn't be able to hear her and he wouldn't be looking at her 😭

Perry whose voice you were talking about is Jeffery Pierce, the voice actor who played Tommy in the game. The clicker in the car and that killed Kathleen was a child. She was wearing a Blues Clues shirt and was probably one of the children from the underground bunker. She was played by a 9-year -old gymnast and contortionist.

After seeing Bells cry as much as she did in Henry’s and Sam’s death I have to go watch a try not to laugh or smile video where she laughs the whole time. Seeing that amount of emotion for a show in a while almost opened the floodgates for me too 😅

Fun Fact: Jeffrey Pierce (Perry with the beard) is the original voice actor for Tommy in the game. and the actress playing Marlene is the original actress for Marlene in the games too. Love that they are giving jobs to the people who brought the game to life. Can't wait to see Troy and Ashley.

I never comment..ok... I can't really say that anymore. Do more please! I am both sad and happy that Bells cries like I do. These small side "missions" show Joel's and Ellie's growth. We are seeing Joel's defenses beginning to drop. We see Ellie's fear of being alone and the weight of what being immune actually does to her. This show has really been great.

This episode is another reminder of how brutal and unforgiving this world is, regardless of who you are. Something as simple as running across a group of infected has catastrophic effects to deal with and even doing the right thing has consequences. It’s no wonder Joel closed his heart off in the first place. The quicker you get attached to someone, the more likely you are to lose them.

This was my Favorite episode of the series! With great zombie action scene, and the most heartfelt moment with Ellie and Sam. I literally cry watching both the show AND this video. Can't wait to see the next react.

I had honestly forgot about what happened in the game. But when I saw the infected grabbing both of them by the legs I knew the characters would be gone by the end of the episode.

Honestly never played the game I knew some stuff about it through nerd osmosis but I didn't have these pre-exsisting relationships like people who played the games. But that said the writers and actors of this show did a phenomenal job at bringing these characters to life to the point of caring about them in like an hour. In my opinion this is top tier writing and acting and I wished I watched this show as it was coming out.

The Bloater was Not CGI and the 6ft 8 Actor who played the Bloater comes from the UK and it Took 15 months to Film the First Season in Canada and the cost for each Episode of The Last Of Us Cost $10 millions dollars a Episode and it's the best TV show on TV in the last Few years and they are Started Filming Season 2 of The Last Of Us in Canada

Had a Vietnam vet visit my high school class and talk about his experiences in the war. At one point he talks about how he and his squad were out on patrol and came up to this house with a 11 or 12 year old child playing outside. The child sees his squad coming and runs inside the house. The vet is just thinking "Please don't do it kid, please don't do it". Kid comes out with an AK-47 nearly as big as he was and points it at the patrol. They had no choice but to kill him. So yeah, that stuff happens.

Sadly it does and it makes you pity the men and women who bravely go through this in militaries around the world. I read about the Taliban using child suicide bombers during the 2001 war and one sniper had to kill an 11 year old child the Taliban had sent. He said the kid was as old as his own son and after he shot him, he just vomited and vomited. It’s a messed up world we live in.
