We didn't actually have an easy draw considering we finished 16th last year. It's all good though Hawks made finals this year thanks to a great brand of football and I'm proud of that 😊 thanks for your comment bud. Edit: In my lifetime I've already seen the Hawks win 4 premierships I can't complain with that. It's great to see them flying again. No one knew how bad Richmond was going to be. They've been bloody good. Many games where they looked outstanding. Some...not so much. That's the strange way an AFL season unfolds. Tweaking of the game plan by the coach, going away from tactics like 'guarding grass ' when we have a lead, and instead playing man on man footy to make a team earn a momentum shift and their scores...that took time. We look more balanced without Lewis. I hope we find a new home for him next year and pick up a few draft picks. Skaife can cover his absence and Chol, Gunston, Dear, Breust, Ginnivan and Watson as well as the bot players, McDonald, Massimo, Weddle, Newk etc...we can score heavily without Mitchell Lewis. Our defense looks so calm under pressure and Scrimma and Amon have gelled perfectly well. Frosty has stopped giving up his two goals a game from stupid choices. I don't know why or how but I prefer it. Cam McKenzie is going to be a Brownlow Medallist....I swear he's a damn skillful player and his blonde locks will attract votes. Fingers crossed.

It was a bit of a training drill at times but did what we had to do. Almost feel sorry for the guy following Dylan Moore all day. Kept him to 4 touches till 3/4 time and Moorey still ends up with four goals.

We look so well balanced across the ground. Not one area dominated by an individual. Lewis causes too much focus to shift from better kicks and should be traded at seasons end. Skaife can easily take his place and dominate. He's a beast! Daysy having a week and a bit will be enough for him to recover. He is a tough competitor. Chol, Dear, Gunston, Breust, Moore, Watson and Ginnavan can carry this team to a Premiership this year up forward. Our mids, Newk, Worps, Daysy, Dildo(when he's in), Meek, Nash, Massimo et al, including McKenzie are as good as any midfield going around now. They just took time to get it together and Sammy needed to tweek his gameplan. Frosty, Sicily, Dimma, Scrimma, Impey and Weddle will challenge any opposition forward line and make them earn their scores. We're playing finals. This is what we know. We need to win the first one and keep on winning until the Premiership Cup is ours! CARN THE MIGHTY HAWKS!!!! We're in it. Now...we just have to win it.

Beginning of the comp I had a little hope we maybe could make the 8 or get close, five games in and I thought oh crap another bottom 3 finish. At what point do we recognise that north are no better under Clarkson than they were under previous coaches? The whole Clarkson and Hardwick were messiahs is a myth. Both had generational talent in their flag sides at Hawthorn and Richmond and they’ve not improved North or Gold Coast at all this season compared to Noble, Ryhs Shaw and Stuart Dew before them. Sam Mitchell as a young coach has got so much out of a young core of players and a club left devoid of any top picks after Clarkson kept topping up chasing another flag ie Chad Wingard for picks that have set up port Adelaide for a decade.
