Biff was better off at the end as he ran his own business. George was not bullying Biff, he employed him to put 2 coats of wax on the car but he knows Biff is a character and would try and get away with just doing one.

@johnnehrich9601
@johnnehrich9601 3 ай бұрын
In the 1950's, we still had party lines - a dozen people would share one phone line. If a call was for you, the phone rang in all dozen houses, but would ring a distinctive way for each person to know to answer it. However, other people could simply pick up their phone in order to listen in, too - gossip spread quickly. If you wanted to make a call out, you might have to wait until whoever was on the line hung up. If you wanted to call a number within your exchange, you didn't need to dial the first three digits. Also for the next three, it started with a couple of letters, and these were set up to be easy to remember. Like Ashley-7 8860 (made up number) but the A and S stood for 2 and 7. We had directory assistance to get a number if we didn't know it. Everyone who had a phone got a directory ("white pages) and one with businesses ("yellow pages"). You got a new one every 6 months or so. Every phone, including pay phones, had a directory next to it. If you called long distance, you'd dial the long-distant operator who would be told the number. She (always a she at the point) would have to call you back in a few minutes after she got the line connected through to the other party. Most people didn't have answer machines (tape recordings itself was just coming in), so if you wanted to leave a message for someone not home, you'd send them a telegram (See Hitchcock's 1943 Shadow of a Doubt and his late '50's North by Northwest).

The first airplane was in 1903, just about the same time as the first Ford auto (although there were experimental horseless carriages going back before that). Marty goes back to 1955 so cars were very common, but the DeLoran looks so futuristic, even to those in 1985, which is why they don't recognize it as an auto - particularly because of the gull-wing doors.

Ähm... Nope! The first car was invented by the German, Karl Benz in 1886 (Mercedes Benz, nowadays). The first flight took place in the US, but not in December 1903, but in August 1901. And it was in Connecticut. This federal state, did a law about that! And of course the inventor, was a German. Gustave Withehead (Gustav Weißkopf)...

@@melchiorvonsternberg844 I said the first Ford, not the first car, and did also say there were experimental cars before that. And technically the first auto (as in self-powered road vehicle) was in 1769, French inventor Nicolas Joseph Cugnot's large, three-wheeled military tractor powered by a steam engine. It wasn't very practical. According to Wiki: "The first steam-powered passenger vehicle, known as the 'Puffing Devil' or 'Puffer,' was built by British inventor Richard Trevithick and debuted on December 24, 1801, outside Redruth in Cornwall. Trevithick took seven friends on a test ride in the vehicle, which weighed 1,520 kg when fully loaded and could reach speeds of 9 miles per hour on flat ground. However, the vehicle was left unattended on its first trip and 'self destructed.'

Great reaction you had. You are so funny too and you have such a glow in you. Hard to believe that you don't have a man though. I hope you do continue the triolgy. All 3 movies are great. As far as George being a bully to Biff, I don't see it that way. Biff has a garage and George hired him to wax his car but wanted 2 coats of wax on his car. I mean if I pay someone to put 2 coats of wax on my car, I wouldn't want to be cheated either by only having 1 coat of wax on the car but pay for 2. He just knows Biff is always trying to get away with something. Anyway, great reaction. I can never get tired of watching all 3 movies time and time again.

😎👍 I am not old enough to remember the 1950s, but I am old enough to remember the late 1970s and early 1980s, and even then, on those rare occasions when one would come across a parked DeLorean, it would always attract a lot of attention from people walking by. Those doors that opened upward instead of sideways were very futuristic looking. Back in the 1950s it absolutely would've looked more like a spaceship than a car to most people, hence the reaction of Farmer Peabody and his family. By the way, his name was an inside joke. Check out the 2014 Dreamworks animated feature, "Mr. Peabody & Sherman," with it's characters based on a popular late 1950s cartoon program involving time travel, and you'll get it. 🐶👦 The movie that director Robert Zemeckis made right after this film, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" (1988) also has Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) in it. It's well worth watching. 🐰

Unlike most trilogies this is timeless and it shouldn't be messed with. Also unlike other trilogies sequels take exactly where the original left off and it's actually played as one big story. New confident George does not _bully_ Biff. He is making sure he doesn’t cut corners. Also, I don’t believe there can ever be a 4th film. At this point, Michael J Fox would no longer be able to reprise his role as Marty McFly, and it’s highly doubtful if Christopher Lloyd could return to do Doc. There’s just no sequel without both of them.

What confuses me about time travel: if you travel any direction in time…… because the earth spins, it revolves around the sun, our solar system is spinning around with our galaxy and the universe is expanding….. the earth would not be in the same place as when you left your time. Even if he could program the time machine that way, that's two trips.

The attention to detail in this is wonderful. There's the Twin Pine Mall switch to Lone Pine Mall (one sapling is destroyed in 1955) that everyone notices but there's a tiny hint that the timeline has changed because if you look at the moment the helicopter flies over the clock tower, there's the break in the parapet the Doc Brown caused in the past. And isn't the 'crazy drunk driver' guy on the park bench was the the town mayor in the 50's?. And there's the famous time-travel paradox gag where Chuck Berry's cousin gets him to hear his own, yet-to-be-written song played by Marty from the future. I think there's a Simpsons episode which parodies the joke.

37:52 i don't know how employing someone to clean your car and stopping them from short changing you on the service is being a bully. that has really confused me. biff is clearly friends with them of sorts. getting all excited about his book. you don't get happy for someone like that if they are bullying you. george at the beginning of the move would not get visibly excited if he found out about biff getting a promotion say. seems to me out of all the changes made biff had the best result in this movie. he seems like a changed happy go lucky guy a the end of this movie. much happier than at the beginning.

Biff is still a bad guy in the new timeline. He just acting like a good guy cause he's not powerful and rich anymore .. George is more successful now

That's a fair point. Biff is definitely a "rotten to the core" type. I just didn't pick up on it at first. Thank you for watching

Hélène Rollès.

One thing that's always bothered me.....is when Doc visits the school & he's standing there looking at the 'Enchantment Under The Sea' poster.....his hair is obviously cut short. Then it's magically back to normal.

Love the movie but the reaction was insufferable. When will reactors learn when to shut up and stop talking about their personal experience. When their narcissistic comments take up 90% of the commentary who can watch it.

The point of a reaction is to have the commentary and the additional conversation. If all reactors bother you so much, maybe you should consider watching the movie on a streaming service instead. Anyway, thanks for the view :)

Also this was supposed to be a one and done but was so popular the studio insisted on a trilogy that's why the crazy ending and therefore 2 and 3 were made at same time but released separately so there is a built in trailer for 3 at the end of 2 just after it says to be continued filled with spoilers so stop there if not want them
