There’s no Back to the Future 4. The ending with the train flying towards the camera is just a callback to the ending of the first film. Nothing more.

Well; Yes.. But there is a different reason as-well.. which is ~why~ the first film ended that way (I mean they had it in the first movie and they had no plan to make a trilogy of it at the time).. It was a fairly common "adventure movie" trope that even if the actual story had ended,. it would still be ongoing. I suspect it was about stimulating kids' imaginations, and find excitement (and perhaps make own adventures in roll-play?) instead of making them sad that the movie is over.

Do you remember that scene in 2 where biff was in the hot tub? The movie playing on the TV was showing that scene with the improvised bulletproof vest. That's what gave him the idea to do that here.

The Doc being stuck in the past has no effect on the previous established timeline... Even though he eventually does revisit 1985. Marty returns to a familiar 1985 for that reason. You may think Doc's return is a gimmick, but it is kind of necessary as Clara and Doc will have a new family tree of ancestors, and they must not remain in 1890s Hill Valley for Marty's expected timeline to remain assured. But that is not a problem if they live their rest of their lives in a nomadic way (constantly shifting times and places) or in the future.

The character of Needles is played by Flea, the bass player in Red Hot Chili Peppers. Even though no songs from the band where used in the film, it does carry on having a musician in the movie, as with Huey Lewis who sings "Power of Love" and played the talent evaluator for the high school in part one.

This was fun ❤❤ The train going over the the bridge into the ravine was a model. When the train hits the DeLorean they asked the conductor if it could be done without causing the locomotive to derail. He just laughed and said "No worries. I've always wanted to do this" 😊

I think you have missed out on the most basic of time travel tropes. No.. If Doc stays in the past his life won't automatically get undone.. IF his parents conceived him.. he invented the time machine.. Then he ended up going back to the old west.. Unless something specific happens in the past that undo THOSE events, then he will be there to go back in time to the old west and live out his life.

To clear your mind here this dog in the West already invented the time machine and set Marty to the past then to the Future back to the past and to the West. This is the version of doc that did all those things up until you got struck by lightning in 1955. The Time machine everything still goes to normal. The one we saw in 55 had not done those things yet. But the duck were seen here in the west already did. The only difference is when Marty goes back Dr Brown doesn't spend the rest of his life with Marty. Everything happens as planned until he goes back to the West. He got struck by lightning after he invented the time machine so it doesn't ruin the timeline. Doc could stay in the past. However Clara was supposed to die so Clara could come to the future without messing up the timeline if she was supposed to still be alive it would mess up the timeline but because she was supposed to die over the ravine she has no need to be there anymore she could go to the Future.

The point of Doc and family showing up at the end in their steampunk flying time traveling train, was just for closure. Bob Gail and Bob Zemekis have absolutely no interest in doing another sequel. They have stated that on multiple occasion anytime the question has ever come up. And a sequel cannot be made without them. That got put in their contract before they made the two sequels (that they never wanted to make). It was just to give it that nice little happily-ever-after warm and fuzzy ending.

You've probably sat and stewed over the movies enough to come up with the answer, but regardless what happened to Doc in the past, he was always born in the future. His life is sequential: he's born, travels, and would have ended in the past, but he was already born before ending in the past, so that could not have changed.

As doc put it your future hasn't been written yet but your past has. Since doc was born in this timeline. He still exists which is why everyone has a memory of him he still exists. He just chooses to spend the end of his life somewhere else. It's not like he automatically when he was a baby was born in the West. This version grew up in 1985 and then retired his inventing career after inventing the time machine in the West. Marty still grew up with him and became friends with him and the time travel still physically happened it's not that they remember their old life it still exists up until they go to the West. The intention of the ending was to not make a sequel same with the first movie but just like you they mistaken it as a cliffhanger and they force the writers to make a sequel which was too long so they made two sequels. The trilogy was born they learned from their mistakes so instead of Marty and Jennifer getting in the car or in this case The Time machine train only dark in his family are going on adventures through Time and you can't have a movie without Marty McFly so since he's not going on these adventures you have no choice but to end it. They made a deal with universal so that they wouldn't be forced to make sequels again. So the deal is as long as they're alive and they're still alive to this day as long as they're alive universal is not allowed to make a reboot remake sequel or prequel to Back to the Future.

So I don't know about all drive-ins, but the ones close by me needed an upgrade to their projectors to align with the higher quality movies coming out. It was a big expense and some of them could do it and others could not. I wanna say that by the time covid came around, most drive-ins had been closed for years. However, I did hear that the ones that were still in operation did very well during the masky times

There is a script for a fourth movie. But it will not happen. There is also been rumors about a remake of the movie with a gender reversal. Marty character would be a girl and so forth. But Roger zemakas did you say that there would be no remake while he was alive. But of course, studios can always decide differently. Without Michael J. Fox without at least some kind of role. I really don’t think a fourth would be possible. If it did, it would have to center around doc passoff the torch to somebody with the time machine and then biff could let somebody know about the time machine to create a new villain. Script they made for the fourth movie is not that bad but it is a little more fantasy then the other three. When I mean fantasy, I do know that time travel is not possible and is also also fantasy, but the script looked at a future That was a lot more fantasy oriented.

There's no 4th one! Where'd you get that? This is a classic trilogy and it ended perfectly WITH the train. I always wanted a 4th one with Jules or Verne finding the train in a huge storage space and going on some adventure with Marty's youngest kid not played by Michael J Fox after attending Doc's funeral. Chrstopher Lloyd. Michael J. Fox, Thomas Wilson, Mary Steenburgen could make cameos at some point in time from when their characters were still alive. But with Fox getting sicker with his MS and Lloyd getting older, they'd better hurry. Hopefully, Spielberg and Zemeckis keep this treaure protected forever so nobody steals it to remake it because that would be terrible.

So wouldn’t there have been two time machines in 1885? The one doc went back in and the one Marty did. So they could use gas from one for the other or switch parts as needed . Or did I miss a line of dialogue that explains this? And wouldn’t the use of the garbage disposal fuel technology render gasoline obsolete? Also if time travel were possible why would be in the same spot you left? The earth is spinning, revolving around the sun. Our solar system is spinning around the galaxy and the universe is expanding. Even if you went back in time three days, the earth would not be where you left it.

All motion is relative something else. The Earth is in motion relative to the sun and the stars, but the sun and stars are in motion relative to the Earth. That's what Einstein's theories are all about: there is no fixed frame of reference in the universe. So who's to say whether or not the time machine was designed to stay motionless relative to the nearest object with a large enough mass -- the Earth? Also, I just Googled "gasoline shelf life" and found out that gasoline turns thick and gummy after about six months. Doc would have drained the fuel tank before hiding the DeLorean in the mine.

College kids throwing them around. 31:20 I would like to think that Marty would have told the truth without the intervention of Needles. And driving backwards and swerving around disturbed me. That was as dangerous, even though nothing happened. As I understand it, the BttF4 trailers are all fake, including the most recent.

😄👍 There's quite a bit one has to ignore in order to enjoy this film. Like the fact that there is absolutely no logical reason in the universe for Marty's great great great grandmother on his FATHER'S side of the family to resemble his mother at all, let alone be a perfect clone of her. 🥸 Also, as someone who grew up in southern California in the 70s and 80s, I can assure you that there has NEVER been such a thing as a drive-in theater with a flat parking area. They all have rows of berms that tilt the cars up towards the screen. It would be pretty much impossible to drive faster than 5mph inside one, let alone 88mph. 🤠 In spite of that and a whole lot of other stuff, it's still a fun movie. 😜
