One of my favorite Stephen King films, shout-out to Stephen King's wife for saving Carrie, when Stephen King was writing the novel at the time, he threw it away in the trash, he thought it was not good, but his wife took the writings and read them, and told Stephen King to keep writing and finish the novel

Miss Collins thought Sue was jealous and would cause a problem so she got Sue out of there fast. Tommy thought Sue was jealous also. Sue just came to see who would be the king and queen, that's why she stood by the stage. She had no idea what the others had planned. The laughing was in Carrie's MIND. But NORMA (red hat) actually knew the plan and DID laugh

I always empathized with Carrie; she wasn't hurting nobody. I just wished she would have only gone after the ones that had actually done something to her. Like letting Tommy burn up and killing the teacher wasn't necessary. She deserved better. Also, it's why I love Friday the 13th pt 7 so much b/c it was effectively Carrie vs. Jason, lol.

This movie right here goes out to all the baby’s mommas, mommas..mommas, mamas. 😂 Happy Mothers’s Day. I love this movie I’m ecstatic that you like it too SG! My favorite character is the teacher, Ms. Slap-a-Ho just putting hands on everybody lol. Interesting fact. In the scene where momma is telling Carrie about the dress being red and Carrie corrects her saying it’s pink. She kept going off script and saying the dress is red. The director told the actress, Piper Laurie why she kept saying the dress is red. Piper Laurie said that her character’s beliefs and views are so warped and sees things so puritanical that in her mind it’s shows as red. She doesn’t believe in others intentions and just sees the sin. She also thought the movie was a dark comedy. Interesting perspective and a really great performance that she gives. Great reaction Sista Gurl, love your commentary. 👍🏾

Hey Sista!! Carrie (1976) was beyond creepy and disturbing!!! It’s insane she was abused by her own psychotic mother & a group of bullies!! Sissy Spacek was tremendous in this, but if you haven’t seen In the Bedroom (2001) the one she did with the late actor Tom Wilkinson was extraordinary their performances!! U should react to it, it’s very dark & tragic! Hard to believe this was John Travolta’s debut film in this he was young but a phenomenal actor! He was ruthless in the movie, The Taking of Pelham 123 react to that one as well. In the ending was satisfying when Carrie uses her telekinetic powers to kill her crazy mother! Great reaction❤💯

I heard Roger Corman passed away last night. Roger Corman was a legendary filmmaker, king of the B-movies, and launched so many careers. So yeah, definitely, I gotta recommend a movie to honor his passing. There are honestly so many horror movies I could choose from, but I think it really comes down to one choice: One of his Edgar Allan Poe movies. His Edgar Allan Poe are celebrated and regarded as some of Roger Corman's best work, and for good reason. Roger Corman tried his best to adapt the Poe stories while also being original and paying tribute to Poe. They're gothic movies dripping with atmosphere. If I had to suggest any of them, I would recommend either the 1960 movie House of Usher or the 1964 movie The Masque of the Red Death, if that's OKay? Those are the two best of the Edgar Allan Poe series. It'd be another reason to react to them. I think it'd make for a fun reaction 🙂

@@SistaGurlonFilms Another important detail about Roger Corman is that as a producer, for 3 decades when he was running his low-budget companies New World Pictures and then New Concorde, he put more women in the director's chair than all but one major studio. 1. Stephen King threw this book away, but his wife took it out and told him to send it in. It's the first one that sold to a legitimate publisher that wasn't adult pulp and the first to be adapted into a movie. 2. Back then teachers were allowed to strike a student if warranted. (Class of 1979) 3. Sissy and Piper Laurie were both nominated for Acadamy Awards, but horror didn't get love back then. 4. Norma/PJ Soles As long as I have a face.... (she has to ace that ballcap) 5. Sue, Tommy and Miss Collins really were trying to help Carrie. I read the book. 6. If Billy's a high school student, so am I. 7. Margaret's crucifixion pose is the same as the St. Sabastian. 8. In the book half the town burns. The budget didn't allow it to be included in this adaptation. 9. The only thing good in the second LOSER remake is Carrie/Chloe Grace Moretz could get it. (King remakes are 0/10) Including "IT" and "The Stand".

Excellent movie. The music makes this movie all the more creepy. The horrifying ending where the Carrie's hand reaches out of the ground for Sue is elevated by the piercing music played during the scene. It was masterful. That scene scared the crap out of when I first saw the movie. FYI: that statue in the closet was of St Sebastian who was a Christian martyr and patron saint of athletes and archers. He was killed during the Diocletian Persecution of Christians. He was initially tied to a post or tree and shot with arrows, though this did not kill him. He was nursed back to health by Saint Irene. After his recovery, Sebastian confronted Diocletian publicly and was clubbed to death for his impudence.
