Honestly, I agree with you right there. As harsh as Lightning was when he scolded Cruz, he definitely had a good point. They haven't completely become friends yet, and Cruz was his trainer. Not to mention, he spent more time training her than she did training him. It makes sense if you consider her backstory, but if your trainer was someone who made you rely so heavily on technology instead of real-world exercises and did not know how to spot you in the gym when your career is at stake, you would be pretty irritated too.

to me it would have to be set for a slightly older audience, with it being styled like a collection of news reports or a documentary of docs career. any moments with doc speaking would have a new younger actor with a similler voice but more brash to show a less wise doc.
@KaleidioАй бұрын
The whole reason they cut Doc's character is because his actual voice actor (Paul Newman) passed away in 2008. The director really respects real race car drivers' voice actors, and I'm sure he wouldn't want to betray that respect for him. If a prequel happens and they recast Doc, I'd actually be scared for Pixar, not happy to see it.
@wheniztheendАй бұрын
I feel like Doc Hudson's story is actually a story worth telling.
@CraftingMenaceАй бұрын
@Kaleidio I wouldn't say that'd be disrespectful for it at all. Yeah I'm aware he passed away-I've been a huge Pixar buff since Inside Out 1. To play a younger Doc they'd have to recast him anyway, even if he was alive. Its like if the prequels for star wars didn't cast a younger actor to play Obi-Wan, that'd be weird.

I'm kinda disappointed how Cars 3 is getting a lot of hate recently, and Cars 2 is getting recognized more? I don't get it at all. WHY? Cars 3 was awesome. Although it became slightly predictable towards the end of the second act, the concept was a good and natural one. Just back to racing. The introduction was well handled, and except for the Thunder Hollow scene, every scene had a purpose in my opinion. The animation was crusty in the intro though, some racers further away looked much bigger than ones nearer, and although it wasn't as horrid as in the first movie, a lot of them changed spots randomly. I'm a huge Piston Cup fan, so that contributes a lot to why I like this movie. The racers' expressions are so much more diverse and consistent, Ed Truncan always keeps his cool, Sheldon Shifter keeps staring aggressively at everyone who passes him, Harvey Rodcap narrows his eyes in concentration, you can't see Barry DePedal's eyes very much because they're almost closed most of the time, and I find it funny how Noah Gocek tries his best to trail McQueen in the final race, he's always seen behind him, and when he loses his grasp on McQueen's tail in the crash, he stares desperately after him.

Seeing this movie again after watching it in Theaters. I still think it’s a great movie and what I’d consider a good finale for the franchise. I always liked this one. Though my most recent viewing made me love this one. This one felt like it was concluding on a high note. Seeing Lightning come to term with his age and try his hardest to do what he loves just because it gives him joy and not for fame and fortune like he originally was in the first movie. Not to mention this one has a beautiful tribute to Doc Hudson and Paul Newman. That scene where Smokey tells McQueen that he was the best part of Doc’s life and not racing still gets to me to this day. McQueen becoming the happiest he’s ever been training Cruz like Doc did with him is great development, and the perfect way to conclude his arc and this franchise. Seriously how do people see this as a bottom tier Pixar film?
