When I first heard Jane Doe, it made me so uncomfortable. I’d never heard a sound so violent and chaotic. No, I’ve never been a fan of any sort of “brutal death metal grindcore blah blah blah”, but I would never call that sound something that actually made me nervous. Jane Doe was different in that I literally felt like a kid again, listening to something I knew I shouldn’t be. Over time though, I kept coming back to the title track to dip my toes and went a little further in each time. 5 years later I legitimately think this is one of the greatest albums ever made. While I do have my favorite tracks, this is one I can always listen to from beginning to end when the mood strikes. Absolutely incredible.

I saw this band in my early 20's(i'm in my mid-30s now) and I wish I appreciated watching them more. They're so good.

Amazing seeing this band live, such an experience! So much energy and pride in their delivery. I’ve been a fan since Jane Doe exploded my mind in 2002! I have a Jacob Bannon design tattoo on my arm, managed to meet them after a show once, super nice guys, Jacob was exhausted and was hanging on to me catching his breath! Closest I’ve been to fan boying! 😂

One of the coolest things I saw after a gig was Jacob under a spotlight with steam rising from his body, lol. The guy gives it his all, super dope, cheers!

Used to go see them all the time in the early 2000s pre-Jane Doe, venues the size of a living room, mosh pits like prison riots, and they've only gotten better over the years.

I saw Converge at some local banquet hall right around when this album first came out, and it was definitely one of the most memorable shows I've ever been to. I've seen them several times over the years since, and they just always sound so good live. This album was a gamechanger for hardcore back in the day.

SAW THEM ON THE JANE DOE TOUR, BUT THEY HAD LOST THE 2ND GUITARIST, SO DIDN'T SOUND AS GOOD AS THE ALBUM, THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I HAVE SEEN IT PERFORMED WITH TWO GUITARS. THE SOUND WAS PRETTY SHIT AS WAS AT THE UNDERWORLD WHILE THEIR SOUND WAS TERRIBLE. THEN THE SINGER SPENT ABOUT AS LONG TALKING IN BETWEEN THE SONGS AS THEY DID PLAYING MUSIC, BUT OF COURSE YOU COULDN'T MAKE OUT WHAT HE WAS SAYING, SO WAS BORING. THEN DURING THE SONGS WAS HANDING THE MIC ROUND THE CROWD SO JUST HEARD DRUNKEN PEOPLE SHOUTING. SO YOU REALLY DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING BY MISSING THAT TOUR, IN FACT IT PUT ME OFF THEM A LOT AS THEY WERE ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS UNTIL THEY RELEASED THE NEXT ALBUM. BUT THEIR SUPPORT BAND THAT NIGHT WAS EDEN MAINE, WHO WERE INCREDIBLE, (WE DIDN'T SEE THEM THAT NIGHT AS WERE STUCK IN TRAFFIC BUT MY BAND AT THE TIME PLAYED WITH THEM, SO SAW THEM UPSTAGE US) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3KViZ5-gJ6BqNU ALSO THE OTHER UK BAND I LOVED AT THE TIME, WHO WE ALSO WERE UP STAGED BY, WAS THIS BAND: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqW5hKuYbN2Voa8

I do get annoyed when there is too longer break between songs, just lose the energy, meh. I've seen Converge a good few times so I got to see them do some good shows. Cheers

thx for the recommendations - reminds me of classic racebannon. i mean jacob did blow out his vocal cords & need surgery - a true madman dedicated to his craft
