Heaven in her arms is probably the best or at least my favorite converge song. I think this is one of those bands that when they put out a record, its record of the year, easily. They innovate still. I don't think there are many that can compete with them. All we love we leave behind is probably there best next to this. Check out: DIllinger escape plan-Calculating Infinity Gaza-I dont care where i go when i die Deadguy-Literally anything Every time i die-Hot Damn Poison the well-Opposite of december.

omg yes! it would be so cool to see you get into more noisy metal stuff! kind of a basic suggestion, but Unsilent Death by Nails is a grindcore album that really helped me get into the sound (& it's only 14 minutes long!). a more personal pick is Caligula by Lingua Ignota, which isn't metal, but incorporates a lot of the abrasive style & i just think you'd love it in general
@ahumannamedcharles53295 ай бұрын
the struggle to find ppl who will listen to noisier stuff is real. I gave a listen to your EP from earlier this year, really liked it! Has a fuzz and grit to it that feels authentic and was weirdly immersive, especially with the extra context you wrote on the band camp page. feels inseparably American, if that even makes any sense - the harsh tones and vocals were great too. support queer noise!

My favorite album of all time. Opened up a lot of doors when it came to enjoying music. It showed me that heavy music could be emotional and chaotic. Thanks for posting this, it's so awesome to watch someone experience this for the first time. It's reactions like these that make sharing music so fun.
@gavinbarnett50335 ай бұрын
Hell To Pay might just be the best production on any metalcore song I've ever heard in my life, that growling bass is fucking FILTHY and the way it leads into Homewrecker is perfect. This album is fantastic and I love it to death, please react to more Converge they are the most consistent metalcore band in terms of quality

Man since you are stepping those territories while getting deeper into the Swans work, you'll definitely LOVE and get amazed by Neurosis and Amenra. If you are interested, start with "Mass VI" from Amenra and Neurosis... hard to decide between "Souls at Zero" and "Through Silver in Blood". You'll love and feel more and more dragged into this world that Converge and Swans opened to you

Finally some Converge reactions on KZbin. They aren’t talked about enough considering how legendary and influential they are. Glad to see someone young liking them especially just after hearing Concubine. This album is a phenomenal experience, it was fun experiencing it with you. Metalcore for the most part definitely stopped being good, minus the handful of old bands still doing their thing, in the late 2000s imo. Though there is a nice resurgence of bands like Knocked Loose continuing that old sound. Another legendary album to check out would be Botch - We Are The Romans or Misery Signals - Malice and the Magnum Heart.

I don't think I have heard the band botch in 10 years (rough guess). Converge, Gaza, snake charmers, circle takes the square, Pg 99. Have you ever listened to damaged - do not spit? Super underrated aussie band from the 90s

This album is absolutely incredible. I remember being in like freshman year being really really intimidated by this record coming from someone who was really into sludge/stoner and melodic metalcore. a friend of mine gave me the cd for this record along with You Fail Me and I listened to them both after school and was absolutely floored. opened up so many doors as far as musical interest and personal growth playing the guitar. thank you kurt ballou for basically being my guitar teacher since then
@areakastudios67044 ай бұрын
This entire band is so freaking talented. Jacob bannon is probably my favourite hardcore vocalist of all time, and Ben Koller is an absolute machine of a drummer, too.

For all the Metal I have indulged, all the heaviest, the classic, the most methodical, favorable. Nothing has beaten what I felt from Jane Doe from my first listen, it is such an amazing album from back to back to back… If you really love this style and want more of an experience you should check out Zao’s The Crimson Corridor. I think you’ll love a lot of whats going on in that album too.

If I was you I would be very careful. I got into this album earlier this year and I’m now at a point where I think that this might be the best metal album I’ve ever heard. This and Dopethrone are possibly the 2 heaviest metal albums of all time imo. Edit: oh yeah btw the songs you never woulda thought to be your favorite will eventually become your favorite to the point each song is like perfect.

Converge is out of all leagues and maybe even genres band, delivering every time heaviest, most progressive and original stuff since day one...for me literally no bad song in +10 albums...also self recording/producing most of the stuff, doing artwork, having label, and being involved in many other bands for me makes them key figures of extreme/HC music for decades now

Converge are so damn underrated. They’ve been around for nearly 3 decades, and have consistently put out 5 star albums. They’ve influenced countless bands in the metalcore scene, and most of all, they continue to expand and evolve their sound with every new release. Highly recommend checking out their other albums. You Fail Me, Axe To Fall, and The Dusk In Us. Also if you liked Converge, definitely check out other Mathcore legends such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Botch.

also no need to react to it, but if you like this i think you'd like the album No Absolutes In Human Suffering by Gaza. A lot darker, somehow even heavier, maybe the heaviest record in the genre of metalcore imo, not quite as frenetic but more dissonant. one of the like two metalcore albums i would ever argue on par to Jane Doe, the other being We Are The Romans by Botch you'd also probably fuck with the album Prayer For Terrene by Idylls not quite on the same level across the entire record but the opening track maybe puts everything i just listed to shame, including most of Jane Doe, sounds like if Swans made metalcore
